Read what shall wrote In 2020, Shell Nigeria Gas, which provides gas to industrial and commercial customers in Nigeria, completed its 20-kilometre domestic gas pipeline expansion project in Abia State in south-eastern Nigeria. The pipeline connects three key industrial zones and supplies gas to a consortium providing electricity to the Ariaria market. The market is one of the largest leather-shoe-making and open-stall markets in West Africa, with more than 37,000 shops and around 1 million traders. Shell Nigeria Gas has also started building a large gas processing plant in the city of Aba, Abia State, 2 Likes

Nice this is what is needed for rapid industrialized growth. Sadly the AKK project meant to replicate such up north is saddled with cost overruns with no more willing investors.... Major states has to invest in gas transport infrastructure, airport is good but gas plants and pipeline is better. Imagine major zone with adequate downstream supply, mega power stations for industrial and domestic use.... The problem? Inadequate funding of gas infrastructure, I'm not sure the FG and states governments are viewing these as outmost priorities. They prefer to build roads and flyovers without direct returns.... 6 Likes |

IyaebeTheGreat: Inasmuch I do not support tribalism, healthy developmental competitions amongst the geopolitical zones in Nigeria is welcomed most especially in areas where they have individual comparative advantages. This will coax synergy and help to foster a kind of symbiotic relationship which will augur well for national unity and integration. 1 Like 1 Share |
