If You Have A Bus, How Much Will You Charge To Evacuate People From Sudan? by richmond500: 2:56am On May 01, 2023 |
The FG spend N1,200,000 to acquire 40 buses to move 5,500 Nigerians from Sudan, the luxurious bus has the capacity of carrying at least 137 people at a time. Most people felt the amount is too much, others felt it is reasonable considering the situation. and the FG thought that was a good bargain. If we break it down, that will be about N100,000 per person and N13.8m per bus. The cost of acquiring a bus currently in Sudan according to Abplive.com and BBC.com moved from $3,000 to $40,000 that is N18.4m per bus, which should have cost the govt $1.6m to acquire 40 of them so what do you think? Is the price, outrageous, reasonable or a good bargain? |

Nigeria government is corrupt but the $1.2m evacuation budget is in order. Those condemning the government are same people who would exploit motorists and vehicle owners during fuel scarcity. How much is the normal fuel price at the Petrol station? How much is fuel being sold at same station during scarcity with some other people cashing out selling fuel in containers along the road. What is the normal transport fare/ticket price from Lagos to Onitsha? Compare that with the fare when flatinoes embark on their seasonal mass exodus during Christmas to the sad yeast. |
