They’re still on strike but visa processing outside Canada isn’t affected. People have bn getting ppr since the strike started.

Yes if you are staying for more than 6 Months, there is a Super Visa mainly for Grandparents and more.

Finally PSAC has called off it's strike and asked it 120000 members to go back to work today may 1, 9:00 ET. Only the CRA ( Canada revenue agency) are still on strike (35000 workers) negotiations are still ongoing for them (CRA). And I don't think the worker's handling our application are Under the CRA.

You can follow PSAC, CTV news and Global news on Twitter to verify.

PSAC has reached a tentative agreement for the PA, SV, TC and EB bargaining units at Treasury Board.

Members in the PA, SV, TC and EB bargaining groups are required to return to work for their next scheduled shift, beginning May 1 at 9 a.m. ET

Don’t withdraw. You can apply for SOWP along with your visit application. VO will decide on which to withdraw or approve.

Medical is not required 4 visit visa...I did upfront medicals b4...totbut would be needed.

I was already planing to apply for Sowp before eligibility started n felt no need wasting money. I’ve read people apply for both, VO will decide on which to approve.

Yes ircc would issue the sowp visa to you ...it's much more easier to get than a TRV ... you only have to prove relationship ties to the main applicant who is already in Canada most times....
Leave both application to be running...

Just checked the tracker and visa information has appeared. Waiting for PPR! Application was submitted April 29th 2022.

Good news. My spouse's visa information is now available on the Application Status Tracker.

She received her BVL email on April 29 (Saturday).

hello house, please has anyone else experienced this or know what will happen?

Although i am yet to get PPR but i checked the tracker and saw the visa doc no, visa is to expire aug 2023 which is when my old passport expires. i have renewed the passport, do i send the new one?
also if the new one is sent will the visa given still be till august 2023?

You can flagpole to convert visit visa to open work permit if your spouse status is legal. You can also flagpole to change to close work permit if you can secure a job with LMIA. I dropped a YouTube link on flagpole, please watch it.

What makes a spouse status legal? If your spouse has study permit, is it a legal status or it must be work permit and PERMANENT residence?
