Hi Ammykorr,
I'll try to answer you according to my lil knowledge.
Firstly, I don't think your Hubby's last visa would have an impact on your application. In fact, if stated in your SOP( that your hubby cldn't leave because he didn't wanna leave you guys behind),that reason MIGHT even help to facilitate your visas.
According to IRCC each application is treated independently/individually.

Secondly, IF you can provide the 2 yrs POF for the required fees for each of you all well and good but if not 1 year is still OK.
I stand to be corrected. Pls let other gurus make an input.

Exactly it's TMI. I told him/her you don't need to list all the refusals, just mention maybe the last one so as not to call too much attention on yourself. VO is always looking for loopholes to deny you. Of cos we all know they have access to the info so its not as if you lied. But anyway, what do I know?
itsyourboya:

Sequel to this, I have told him not to worry but he seem determined to "convince" a VO that doesn't need more information about the refusals. I also was denied US visit and study visas about four times but just stated I have been denied US visa and that was all.

I just got LOA from fanshawe college but it states that my program starts from January -August(just 8months).
1. Is there possibility of VO giving visa to my husband and children to follow me for 8months program??

2. The letter states that I pay my first semester fee 9,000+ before 25th of may through flywire.
I read that flywire rate is high, pls how do I go about it.

Why not look for a 2 years course since you will want your family to join you later. Some visa officers might frown at it. I've seen a situation where someone's application was refused and GCMS note showed "Short Stay" as part of VO's concern.

If you get a 2 years course, required tuition deposit will still be around 9k plus

All the best

Pls try and go for 2 years course. It will give you 3years PGWP on your way to PR. Except you don't wanna stay back. Don't waste time and resources, 8 mths is too short and won't or might not lead you to PR except that's not ur goal. That 9k is about the same deposit for a 2 yrs course.
Note, 1year course will only give you 1 year PGWP. So, 2 years is better.

1. Ur Hubby’s abandoned study permit does not affect ur application or a fresh application. Each application is independent of its own. Except where d previous app is with prejudice to a crime or fraud.
2. If it’s self sponsor make sure u have all the money u will need for the tuition and living expenses for the family. If u only provide one year expenses, how do u explain how u intend to get the subsequent expenses?

Good Morning House,

I have gone through this thread extensively and read many experiences. I can see that Canada route is not as easy as I thought, cos I have experience with processing UK for people.

In my case, I am 29, got admission to Computer Programming (Jan 2024) at Niagara College, Toronto. I have a Bachelor in Agriculture, but skills in Web and Software Dev, and I want to totally switch to tech while also achieving Japa goals.

Now, I am expected to make tuition for 1st semester of roughly 8k CAD which is not a problem. The issue is I want to take the 'normal 9ja POF' of about 9m (self-sponsored) for 2 - 3 months, to stand for upkeep and tuition balance. I plan to hustle for more money for tuition balance, house rent and travel ticket while I make my application waiting for an approval.

My greatest fear is visa rejection, so I want the process to be smooth from my end.

Can I apply for visa myself or through an agent?

I need all the advice available.

Thanks.

Hello guys, I have a question.
What if I don't have any work in Nigeria, and I am going to use my wife and son as my home tie, will I be able to bring my wife through Open Work Permit latter?
I actually stated in my SOP under the home ties that I have a wife, son, and landed a property.

Hope this wouldn't be a reg flag for her when I want to bring her through SOWP.

I am going on a fully funded PhD program though.

You can actually DIY the visa process yourself. It's just for you to have time to read people's experiences and follow this thread back to back to learn. Good thing is, you have ample time to really learn. Good luck!

Good Morning boss,
Please I need to ask some questions about this Niagara college, I don't know if u or any other guru in the house can be of help. I'm getting confused here.

1. Does Niagara college offer PGWP?

2. Is it a must u pay all the first semester tuition fee? If NO how much is their tuition deposit for you to get LOA?

3. I intend study IBM which is related to my degree because I studied entrepreneurship and business mgt but IBM is a year course and from what I've been reading so far, it's better one go for 2 years program in other to get 3yrs PGWP.

4. Does the college accept payment in installments for international students? .

5. I got an info dt New Brunswick Community College is cheap and one can easily get a PR, plus their tuition deposit is just 500 CAD, what's you guys take on this compare to all Niagara college?

Let me stop here for now, make I no ask too much question but I still have many questions.

PPR DON SHOW MEHHHHN

Meke ona no vess abeg ... It came out a while ago but i've been quite busy. Wanted it to be as detailed as possible to help y'all for the sake of reference. Thank God for giving me this, I consider it a special gift. I initially intended on using an agent because of his proclaimed success rate. I con reason am, which agent go tell you about their win-to-loss ratio? So, after having a holistic discussion with him about Visa Applications in general ... I figured ... hey ... This isn't really rocket science, I can do this. And so, everything from start to finish was done BY MYSELF. Here's my timeline below.

*Timeline*
School Application 12th Dec 2022
Admission 15th Dec 2022 (Centennial College)
LOA came 3rd Feb (came in late cus Dem go carry my money give another student, I give dem wahala angry no be chais until dem release am)
Visa Application Submitted 17th Feb
Biometrics 22nd Feb (The way the guy that attended to me here kept congratulating me. At this stage IRCC nvr even touch my application. I con dey wonder )
Request for Medical Examination 24th March
Medicals done 17th April
Medicals updated to passed 26th April
PPR dropped 28th April

*After the medicals (Q-life family Clinic Lagos), I followed up with Q-life to find out when they had uploaded my Medicals. When they confirmed this, I sent a mail to the ircc nairobi mail and and about an hour later, medical updated to pass. Same goes for the PPR, when I saw nothing was happening 2 days later, I sent a mail to nairobi again informing them that my medical has been updated to passed and then, I kid you not ... 5 mins later I received 2 mails "A message about your application is waiting for you.", checked the portal and PPR was sitting peacefully waiting for yours truly. Lass lass, na God get power.

I split my documents into 2 pdf's. the first was for financial related documents, and the second was for any other document. Because of this split, I didn't have too hard a time in compressing my documents. As for the compression, documents that I felt ranked higher in importance, I did little to no compression, while documents that ranked lower, I brutally compressed them.

* APPLIED USING GCKEY

Thank you very much for your response. I heard if they requested medical from you, they'll give you a letter to be presented at the hospital. However, what if the state you want to go and do both biometrics and medication is very far, and you plan to do the two at the same day, is there any consequences?

What if they request for biometrics and you did your medical immediately after biometrics without them requesting for it, do you have to send them the medical details immediately or wait for them to request for it?

Please could you explain the implications of doing the two in the same day or do medical after submission of form and without them requesting for it?

Anyone can answer please!!!

Thanks

Do you really think you need this TMI? Won't this call so much attention to your background? I was also refused UK visiting visa many times even after I have visited the UK in the past. But what I did is that, I only mentioned the recent refusals Frm diff embassies including the UK. I don't think you need to be exposing that you've been refused multiple times from the UK.
Well, that's my thoughts sha.

But you know that whether you expose yourself or not they’ll find out if they want to, very easily, your biometrics will cast you asap.
It’s better to say the truth than to lie.

There are no implications if you do same period that's if you are lucky to have both fall on same day. When you book your medicals, they will give you a date, then if you submit your application, and you are lucky to fix your biometrics same period then you do both within same period. You will not be able to do medical and biometrics same day. Each activity takes almost the whole day.
If you do the upfront medical before you submit application then you can attach the medical slip that will be given to you on the day of medical to your application.

However, if you do medical after you have submitted, when you get a medical request, you just send mail to the medical centre to submit your result to irrc attaching the medical request gotten from irrc. With that they will forward your result.
You can also follow up by sending the medical slip you had all this while via web form to irrc directly.
