The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, commissioned the Rana Motors Assembly Plant in Amasaman, in Accra. It is the biggest assembly plant to be established under the Ghana Automotive Development Policy, initiated by the Akufo-Addo Government.

Rana Motors, with support from KIA Motors Corporation of Korea, the manufacturer of KIA vehicles, and one of the leading global vehicle manufacturers, has successfully established the only assembly plant for the production of KIA vehicles in West Africa.

The company has the capacity to assemble some thirty thousand (30,000) vehicles annually, bringing the total capacity of domestically established assembly plants close to one hundred thousand (100,000) vehicles per annum.

May Buhari never happen to us again or any other country.

Since that guy came in 2015 Nigeria have gone from bad to worse.

I can't wait for that illiterate to leave.
Imagine going for 8 years literally without a president. If this happens in Kenya or Tanzania they would have been competing with Somalia by now grin

For now Nigeria is one of the biggest Zoo in Africa sad

I have a little hope Tinubu will bring a glimpse of hope again cheesy
You can't completely blame Buhari. In the Jonathan era, we were earning approx 70 Billion dollars yearly to share to FAAC (excluding other revenues/royalties). Even before Jonathan, excess crude account in the time of Obasanjo was 105 Billion dollars (as at 2004).
When Buhari came, excess crude account had been spent by previous administrations and we had moved from 105 Billion dollars to just 2 Billion dollars left. Our earnings yearly had also depleted by more than half.

He should have done more on security and abolishing the dual rates for the naira. And he wasn't forceful enough on corruption and such things as oil theft. Buhari is a total mistake, Generaldae. But all the same we can't blame him alone for the mess. The next administration has its work cut out for it.

IGP CHARGES CADET LAWYERS ON IMPROVED INVESTIGATION, PROSECUTION

As IGP Commissions 10 Projects, Moot Court in POLAC

Commissions Model Area Command, Barracks in Kano

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has charged law cadets on training at the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, to be deliberate in developing refined mooting and advocacy skills necessary for insightful investigations and improved prosecution of criminal matters in courts. The IGP gave this charge while commissioning the newly completed Moot Court Building for the Faculty of Law at the Academy during his one-day visit.

The IGP also commissioned other newly completed projects within the Police Academy including an ICT Building, a Digital Forensic Laboratory, an Indoor Sports Complex, Indoor Shooting Range, Post Graduate Hostel, Administrative Building, Gate House, newly constructed road network, and a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intervention sponsored Lecture Auditorium.

In the same vein, the IGP was on ground at Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State for the commissioning of a model Police Area Command structure for the Ringim Area Command Headquarters and barracks accommodation for officers and men serving at the Area Command Headquarters. The structures which are in line with the model police station concept of the IGP are designed for efficiency and effectiveness in discharging policing services.

The Inspector-General of Police assures that the current Force leadership is committed to eliminating inadequate and substandard structures and replacing them with modern, efficient building projects nationwide. Similarly, the IGP reiterated his commitment to capacity building particularly of young officers undergoing training to entrench in them the tenets of professionalism, sportsmanship, and community-oriented policing. Since its inception, the administration has made significant progress in this area.

Nigeria is hopeless until 2060
Ghana will take off in 2040.
Kenya before 2030.
Although Nigeria has to improve her automotive policies and do better but in SSA, I can't think of any other country that has a bigger local manufacturing base in the automotive sector than Nigeria except of course South Africa ( who are far far ahead and in a class of their own).
Although I agree that Ghana seem to have the right automotive policies that could bear fruits in the future.

Yes Kenya is following Philiphines;
When you have excess well educated expensive labour; your cant just shift them to low level manufacturing - sweatjobs.
So for now - we shift them abroad;
Then hopefully bring them back - sooner.
After our economy has take off - in next few years.

You are talking nonsense.

Kenya Skilled labor should be in one place, and that’s Kenya where they are badly needed.

You can’t spur growth in the midst of a brain drain.

You president is treating Kenyans as commodities to be traded, an advanced slave trade.

Most of kenya maids are better educated than you.We import maids from Uganda willing to work for less than 100 dollars and export our educated girls to work for 300 dollars in Saudi.

of course kenya long failed in creating jobs.south Africa which better economy is even worse.We graduate nearly 200k from universities and maybe only 50k get formally employment. We annually release a million to the job market..nearly 800k get employed in informal sector.150k in formal. 50k idle around. To create employment requires massive investment...capital that we don't have yet.We won't get that capital until Kenyans are able to save money in banks so banks can lend it out to businesses n startups who will create jobs.For now we depend mostly on FDI and debt...which we cannot scale reliably well

Nearly all Africa states are in some state of failure. Only Zoomalia and Zoogeria are in such state of dysfunctional they are literally a zoo.

South Africa - the most advanced - has 40% unemployment problem - and cant even discuss it - as they are right now in darkness dealing with load shedding.
