German Chancellor in Kenya - Ruto left him to go to UK - as he tours geothermal power. Kenya has committed to move 100% green energy - we have stopped all oil and coal exploration. Kenya instead will seek to benefit from trillion of dollars in green funding and climate financing.

President @WilliamsRuto
: "Our grid is 92% green, and our commitment is to achieve 100% green energy by 2030. While our current grid is 3 Gigawatts, the potential is huge, and our ambition is to make a quantum leap to 100 Gigawatts by 2040. Germany has been a steadfast partner in our renewable energy journey, and I express my appreciation for their re-affirmed commitment towards increasing the capacity of the Olkaria Geothermal Station."
~Kenya-German Press briefing, State House, Nairobi.

I see us going down the nuclear route. Way more efficient and sustainable in the long run. A good mix of that and geothermal and we can satisfy all our energy needs.

Yes I think future will be nuclear for many countries if safety is addressed, solar, wind, and geothermal.

For kenya in medium term - realistically -I think we should do lots of solar with pumped storage (for base load) - and retire the thermal plants.

Short term - continue to rump up geothermal production - 10,000mw capacity is far from being exhausted - and geothermally is really great as base load.

Production of assembled vehicles has been erratic in Kenya, rising from 6,948 in 2013 to 10,181 in 2015 (CAGR +13.58%).In 2016, production plunged -38% to 6,295 & a further -22% to 4,884 in 2017 (atleast a 5 year low).Production in H119 SURGED +19% to 3,152 v. 2,654 in H118.

Anyway look like it's starting to grow!

KNBS data shows that production of assembled vehicles for 11 months in 2022 was 13,621 units, which is 141% higher than the 5,653 units assembled in the whole of 2018.

Again we are about a decade from entering morroco-like ramp up of car production. Egypt and Algeria are on it now.

Look like production of 4,700 (5k) since the Ghana Auto policy (I dont know when) - it could mean since 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I was very generous.

Ghana might be assembling something like 1,000 cars annually.

They are already lost in frustration, depression, crime and poverty due to lack of formal fulfilling jobs.
Kenya has to be realistic - we cannot generate enough jobs - for now.
In near future we will - once we are able to ramp up savings and investments - which build & expand factories, firms, companies, etc.
Then our diaspora will be attracted to comeback home.

When can kenya realistic take off. Most data suggest 2030. For now we are still laying the foundation.

Once the economy hit take off - it will quickly generate millions of jobs - just like developed countries.

Okay, delusion grandeur

It's interesting how all the Kenyans here know that Ghana is the country they have to catch up with first before thinking of South Africa.

They should go and find out why everyone is leaving Kenya to settle in Ghana. Ask goblacktoAfrica and find out how undeveloped Kenya is😂🤣

Kenya can't be undeveloped like Liberia and be making mouth daily here.

There's not a day we won't go without Kenyan lunacy on this platform

It's still 40% of GDP. Kenya's total debt is over 50% of GDP. Your debt is $75bn and growing. You are struggling to pay workers and you are closer to defaulting on your loans than Nigeria.

Is it true Nigerians have had no power all week? I know because its evident your posts are influenced by generator fumes.

There are 313,000 apartments across Ghana

That's number of Apartments not units in an apartment.

Lunatic.... Even in the face of clear data, you still want to make noise.

Production of vehicles in Ghana was almost 7,000 in 2022.
Registration of brand new vehicles in Ghana was 58,000.

Kenya still has to catch up

Access to electricity in Ghana is now 88%. I'm sure it is 92% now

Only 4,119,930 million people in Ghana don't have electricity. This is equivalent to 1,144,425 million households.

I see why the Kenyans strive for a Kenya like Ghana 🤣
