HELP! PLS DON'T SCROLL PAST!!![color=#990000][/color]

Pls I have a very peculiar situation. I've checked everywhere on the internet, even international Canada visa forums just to find even a slight resemblance of my issuenyet nothing.

Applied July 2022. Nothing till 2nd may when BVL was sent. So during this waiting period as I realized that there was no God-given timeline to get a decision seeing as people were years or as little as 3 weeks from application to decision, I decided to renew my passport as it was expiring in Aug 2024 (yes over a year from now) as I didn't want an issue of if I was waiting till the passport almost expires or even expires to renew and I'm called to submit knowing how the situation is in Nigeria getting passport as well as IRCC's short window of submission. So I went ahead to renew. Still not my main issue.

Now this is where it gets very convoluted. During my renewal, I decided to once and for all reflect my changed name on my passport especially as I was getting a 10yr passport. My passport was my remaining document that bore a different surname and middle name from every other document I have + BVN, NIN, driver's license, voter's card... basically everything after marriage which reflects the surname I currently use (my maiden surname hyphenated with hubby's).

Now not only do I have a new passport (still being processed, hopeful to get it by next week) different from what I applied with (minor issue) as the old one has been cancelled without prejudice, but the surnames and middle name on my application are now different from what's in the passport.

My old passport bears my maiden name as my middle name and only hubby's surname as my own surname (yes, I had done a first name change shortly after getting married and then another years later as I just wanted to retain my surname in a way), while my new passport like all of my documents now bear my original middle name given at birth as my middle name and my hyphenated surname as my new surname. I have court affidavits for change of name as well as reconciliation of name which basically shows every iteration of name I've ever used in this life and newspaper publication showing this my current name in use. I submitted all this during my application.

Now I'm currently waiting for PPR (checked my tracker and I saw visa number and expiry). When called to submit my passport I don't know what to do regarding this name differences.

Should I just send my passport like that and include a letter of explanation in my packet cos at this rate I don't even know if webmail and email works gauging from all the webmails and emails I've sent in the past regarding pertinent issues that have gone unanswered.

Pls I need advice from someone who has had experience with or can give concrete advice. Thanks.

Why paper submission? I don’t know if that still work. She should use new portal to make life easy.

For land, you can use the entire document or land survey.

You don’t need to book flight or reservations, it’s even stated on the website not to book flight until visa is approved.

I really would not want her application to be treated anywhere else than Abuja. She doesn't have a travel history and I am looking at the influence of the popularity of the company I work with sha.

I’ve not seen anyone use paper application recently so I don’t think it’s still in existence. It’s either gckey (old portal) or the new portal.

Abuja doesn’t process visa application. Most application from Nigeria is process in Nairobi, London or Ottawa.

Travel history doesn’t matter, focus on home tie (business, assets, job, investment & family), enough funds and good sop. People with no travel history get approved, just submit a strong application and pray for grace.

Just order n hope they deliver on time. I ordered from a paid website since Jan 2, I’ve not received till now. I used the ATIP free service and got response within a month. I tried using the atip again, close to 2 months no response.

(Use your Nigerian address and phone number pls)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- in the comment box write a short intro and your request. Eg:

- then click continue
- also click continue on the next page(you don't fill anything here)

I was not requested to pay for my CBSA notes and I got my notes in 25days, but I think the window is till 30days.

Send mail to London, Nairobi and Ottawa. If no update just wait. My spouse’s medical n biometrics got updated immediately ppr dropped.

Update!!! For in person submission of passport at Vfs Abuja, there are available dates in may from 9th. If you've checked previously, the only date available starts from June.

VFS already stopped courier service from doing two way. You still have to go through vfs to get your passport back.

Can someone collect my passport on my behalf from vfs?

I guess they cleared all single applications first from backlogs and later faced the group applications, as a group we also got BVLs too yesterday and visa numbers updated in few hours.

It doesn’t take them anything to add your BVL to it, these guys just like to put people on mad suspense.

There was someone on this forum in the past days whose Spouse and Child got Approved and he was refused another person also had his dependents BVL dropped while he is still waiting.

If you’re in Lagos or Abuja go to vfs and submit it. If you’re outside Lagos or Abuja, pay dhl or ups to send it to vfs Abuja. Reach out to vfs and pay 18,700 for home delivery or pickup your passport at vfs in Lagos or Abuja.

Hi guys, just an update on my application. I have still not been able to log into the old orc portal because it’s keeps giving me that same old error each time I try to log in so I decided to register in the application status tracker using my UCL number. And I saw this below.

Please does that mean I have been given the visa and maybe they asked me to bring the passport for stamping? As I can’t still access my account, I don’t know the update ircc did to my application. Please do I just go to Canada vfs London office and give them my passport. I’m confused.

Application is approved since you’ve your visa document but you can’t get ppr on the tracker, you’ll need to sign in into your portal to download it. After your bvl, have you received any mail from ircc to check your portal for update?
