Goodday people. Please a friend got medical request and decided to book for the earliest date possible with IOM. After booking, appointment details was not sent. On getting to their office in Abuja, they said he has to book 2 weeks prior. Please is there anything that can be done to do the Medicals earlier than the two weeks and also since when did that become a policy . Thank you guys.

My cousin rescheduled his Medicals from today to 10th May by chance as it was remaining 1 slot according to them and they mentioned that they had space for 16th, 17th and 18th May.

If you haven't booked your flight already, I will advise you take a strategic position on it and do the following:

1. Change your VPN to Canada. This will make cookies see your location as in Canada.
2. Search around 12am and 4am EST for cheapest flight tickets.
3. Focus on AirCanada, British Airline, AirFrance and KLM.
4. You will be able to book for around CAD 500 and CAD 1,300 if you have CAD or other foreign currency to pay.
5. If you do not have CAD, and you are able to get a cheap flight from AirCanada, they have partnership with British Airlines, they most probably would want you to leave Nigeria on a British Airlines flight because they don't ply Nigeria route, call them and ask if you could come to their office to make payment using NGN, they will charge the official rate of around $1/330. Ask before taking this action.

This is my advice.

This information/method is proven as I have booked a flight in the past for a family of 3 traveling from Nigeria to Canada within 4 days interval between booking date and flight date for just $3,888-- I believe you can imagine how much this would have cost. It would have cost not less than $10,000 as that was what I found. I even saw flight tickets as high as $15,000, $20,000 etc.

Kindly do not take this as an advert or professional advice. I only shared what I know and have tested which worked for me. It may not work for you.

EDIT.
Do not board a flight having stop over in the US if you don't have US visa.

Flights going through the US are always cheaper; do not be tempted to buy this tickets if you don't have the US visa.

Also, if your journey is having more than one stop over in Schengen region, do not board if you don't have visa. You can board if it's just one stop over in Shengen region.

You can pass through the UK and the Ireland without a visa if you hold a Canadian visa.

If you want your passport to be stamped very fast and sent back to you ASAP.

Send it directly to Abuja VFS. Use DHL to send and pay 1 way courier service, about 18k (this is for returning your passport via UPS). If you did biometrics I'm Lagos, you will pay additional money as transmission fee. Don't pay for SMS it's waste of money.

Then relax and see the magic.

All the information are on VFS website
Yes u are correct I my passport was stamped nd received in 3 days

Hello house. Today makes it 2 weeks since my medical changed to 'passed' on my application portal but I haven't heard anything from IRCC after then. My application would be exactly 1 month on 13th May. Do you think I should raise webform to know the status?

You can use the old portal if you have more documents to upload as it allows for 4MB maximum upload per placeholder.

You can use the new portal if you don't have too many documents to upload, if you don't intend to apply with your spouse for SOWP, and if you don't want the stress of IMM forms. It allows for 2MB maximum upload per placeholder.

When you booked your flight, do you book round trip or one way? For example, if I am going in August when should I put it as a return date?

Not necessarily USD. I paid using CAD. Even if you exchange your Naira to CAD using black market rate, it will still pay you alot, but paying in CAD is best. Alternatively, go to the airport or airline offices, they will accept Naira at official rate.

Also, note that you may need to check the stop over. Do not board a flight having a stop over in the US if you don't have the US visa.

Target AirFrance and KLM. They do have cheap flights infused among the dates available. From now to Aug/Sept, you should still be able to find a $500 - $1000 flight if you take your time to search well date by date.

Use airfrance.ca and not .com or .us for example.
