My colleague traveled with one way ticket to Canada on visitor visa and I called klm Dey said no issue. If you say Poe experience I can still understand. I don’t want to talk on the issue anymore. I will wait on the person traveling on Thursday for airline n Poe experience.

For those that have collected their visitors visa from VFS....... please I beg you

1. Book a return ticket

2. Travel light (one or two luggages) for two weeks or a month

3. Make a hotel/Airbnb reservations

4. Don't carry winter outfits (because summer
is approaching)

5. Carry at least a thousand dollars with you in
Cash

6. Don't carry certificate or resumé with you

7. If you have anything that will implicate you
on your phone delete it or a chat with a
Canadian boyfriend or girlfriend delete it

8. If that thing is so important and you don't want to loose, I suggest you save it on the cloud and delete it from your device or better still format your device

9. The CBSA officer have every right to go through your device and can still send you back home (yea....they have that right). That's why i strongly advice against flagpolling when converting your visitors visa to study or work permit at the border.

WHY
Because you didn't state truthfully at the airport when you arrived that you'll be looking for job or study and remain in Canada

So you'll have to prove THIS if you flagpole

SUGGESTION
Apply online instead from inside Canada using the new public policy (140 days processing time).

But if your blood dey hot and you can't wait for the processing time of 140 days, then go ahead and flagpole......it's your funeral.

Biometric letter dropped same day.
Biometric appointment: May 24, 2022 (VFS London)
At that time, standard processing time was 5 days so as BCL dropped same day as application was submitted, I was happy. Not knowing they were up to something. I checked portal endlessly and eventually forgot I had applied Canada visa.

BVL & PPR : May 2, 2023 (almost a year later)
Passport submitted same day in Accra, Ghana.

Kept checking tracker and CIC portal no updates only to receive Passport collection email today.
Passport picked up with shiny 10 year validity visa.

Nothing wrong in traveling with multiple airlines to your final destination.

There is nothing to worry about because some applicants' application portals still display "background check in progress" even after they already have their passport stamped with a visa.

The Visas are granted for 10 years effective from day you applied. However, this is limited by the expiry date of your passport. So if your passport expires in 2027, the date that will be printed on the actual visa will be 2027.

Canada visas do not extend beyond validity of passport unlike US visas.

I guess so.....as long as you're retuning and you have a return ticket.

You can do both so far the reservation is valid and can be confirmed by the border services. Personally I like paying when I get to the hotel.

How are u guys tracking ur application status?

Use your UCI and Application number to start the process.

Then Put in your first and middle names on the first column that says First Name. Insert your Surname in the Last name part then you can then receive a code in your email.

What error message are you getting? It was straightforward when I did it and can’t really remember the registration. Check few pages back, someone explained it.
