What disqualifies him stares you at the face but bigotry n hate you were nurtured with from birth prevent you from seeing it.

The presidential votes Kalu n Akpabio earned for their party in their respective state or constituency is the topmost criteria to earn the support of the president elect n their party men so they should bring that to the table.

If Kalu in his wisdom as something that is beta than that to earn or win him the Senate president he should table it to convince his colleagues but endless wailing by Ipob won't earn him the seat that am sure of.

Add below quote to my provided answer for to shut you up for ever

I THINK YOU ARE SOMEONE FROM THE STONE AGE.
CORRUPT OR NOT WE ARE RUNNING A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT AND SO THE SIT OF THE SENATE PRESIDENT MUST BE TAKEN BY SOMEONE,AKPABIO.

The word “Igbophobia” is a farce conjured by some (or all) Igbos to self-delude themselves into believing their failure is as a result of other people's conspiracy against their so-called "invincibility" or so-called "superiority" so as to psycho-manipulate their prey into self-guilt by playing the Victim card..

The moment you drop facts on them , they play victim & accuse you of hate or they use the old magic word..."Tribalism"

Nobody fears the Igbos, the Igbos are even afraid of themselves..can't even zap out Ipob or ESN on their own soil..sitting at home every money-day like ducks cos of ipob-fear..

This is 2023, that puerile sh*t don't work no more..

If someone like OBJ can lament about Igbophobia, I am sure illitrate like you will know better. There are many things you can call igbos but being a failure is not one of them. They have survive against all odds and also do better than other tribes in many areas.
We dont need to be feared and honestly it is you guys that whine most about the SP. How many igbos do you see chanting SP should go to east apart from these politician who is after their own interest.

I have lived in the SW and I can tell you when it comes to being a coward, the YORUBAS are the champions. They cower among themselves and live the life of servitude hoping to be blessed through begging up and down,

Atleast igbos have the mind to stand up and be a man by going to different places to find better life.

Man was loyal to Buhari from ANPP days to CPN to APC.

Where is Rochas Okorocha, was he not once the darling of the Igbophobic Nigerians for his "bridge building"( which to these Igbophobe actually means being self hating and insulting fellow Igbos)?

Umahi always had a facial of someone mentally challenged, I'm not surprised he is currently following same "Bridge building" path.

Common sense should tell you that a people who hate your people can never love you.

Good analysis. No matter what an Igbo does, he can never be loved .Most igbos know this and that's the reason why they are creating their political history not minding the consequences. Because who is at the ground fears no fall again, instead he will strategise and rise up

The reason they are politically stubborn, hoping that one day it will reward them.

They are real gamblers and definitely they will win one day and recreate Nigeria political history.

It's only an igbo man with their stubbornness could change the history without favoring anyone. One of the reasons Northerners have serious igbophobia

That is the logic some of these mentally challenged Igbo senator's and reps do not understand.

You cannot because of OUK's narrow ambitions, start undermining Igbo long-term goals. At least Akpabio is an in-law, let Igbos support him, after all, he seems to have the support of his party, and there is a mild political understanding between the SE and the SS, and OUK'S ambition is not a worth destroying the current political alliance.
This political alliance helped give PO a fighting chance in the current political fight, and OUK is too much of a useless entity to the current struggle to deserve jettisoning our current self-interest driven political alliance with the SS.

OUK cannot be building bridges with the north and be destroying bridges in the south because of his myopic political ambitions.
The bridge that PO is building is way more significant and beneficial to every Nigerian, than OUK's selfish SP ambitions.
Hmmmm! I gat you.

There were a number of times when the majority did not have their way both in the Senate and the House. Don't forget that most of the Senators who voted for Saraki were non-APC senators and a few APC senators. There were many instances where the Legislatures and the Executives disagreed. This has resulted in so many setbacks during Buhari's first tenure. What you want as a president is a Senate president who comes from your party and is absolutely loyal to the mandate of the party.

You need to go check how Saraki emerged as SP in 2015 then. As it stands APC has the majority in the Senate and they will decide who becomes the SP unlike in the House where the opposition parties are in the majority though anything can happen. Because some politicians might decide to betray their parts. Let's wait and see how things unfold in the coming days.

Cowards don't build civilizations talkless of having more then a millennia-old Monarchy, old empires known across the world and a language with a global recognition & respect .....But in a system like Nigeria if your definition of "ibo bravery" includes matching a mostly rag tag bunch of armed men against an organized military then that's foolhardy...better be a coward than a meatball

And of course Ojukwu exemplified the "Ibo bravery" only for him to hightail it to CIV from Uli after "bravely" feeding 3 million of his folks needlessly to a meat-grinding machine .. if the Ibos were brave , Ojukwu should be hanged alongside his pretty Girlfriend..& his Lineage wiped clean to serve as a deterrent to coward leadership..he should be given a Mussolini-type treatment

Dying needlessly is the height of folly , better run & live to fight another day. Even in Johannesburg you'll see whites begging for a dollar so they can snort up Coco or pipe up crack, it doesn't mean the white race is a failure...mendicancy cuts across the human race

Question to ask oneself is what is the Political, economic & social prospect of my ethnic group as a whole & how can they forge a self-preserving path to have a reputable place in the future of mankind?

Opening up business in other people's lands & buying up high-end properties in non-igbo lands is to favour the individual Igbo, so he could live close to his business where he makes his money .. question is how does that help Alaigbo collectively ?

Although i so much admire & applaud the igbo apprenticeship system though..it's a potent self help program and it's working good and has improved the economic welfare of many Igbos..

But leadership is the key that sets a direction that a people must toe.

The Igbos should shut up and let those who supported the ruling party share their positions accordingly.
You don’t work for MTN and expect GLO to pay you salary. Igbos didn’t vote for APC, rather they voted for LP, so let LP give them the senate president…..bunch of political blind people
Re: Are We Not Part Of Nigeria? Ubah Insists On South East Senate Presidency (Video) by Igboid: 5:54pm On May 09, 2023
I can't answer all the replies I got on my post.
But the general argument from those that replied were these:

1. Igbo politicians in APC should not expect fairness and equity in distribution of posts since their people back home are anti APC.

2. Igbo politicians support for non Igbos or bridge building is a waste of time and they will never be rewarded with any top post, as far as their people back home are not in support of them.

3. Igbos should not expect Senate position from APC since they have had senate position from 1999- 2007 under PDP.

Now let me tackle these arguments.

1. If Igbo politicians in APC should not expect fairness and equity from other APC members despite them going against their own people back home, cursing their own people, denigrating their own People to please Nigerians and be called detribalised Igbos, doesn't it go to show that they are f.oolish to not see that they are disgracing themselves and their own people for a people that will never treat them fairly or offer them equity.
Only a people without dignity or group pride goes to a place they are not considered equals or valued and that sums up Igbo politicians in APC.

2. Common sense will tell that by giving big posts to the Igbos in APC who went against their own people to stand with APC, you will prove to Igbos that APC actually means well for Ndiigbo and that way you can win the region back for APC?
In 1999 SW was an AD region, they voted against OBj in the presidential election.
But when they saw the love PDP showed to OBJ, they ended up allowing PDP to make big inroads in SW in 2003 in bid to help OBJ get re-elected.
APC will have to reward Igbos already in their midst with top posts before Ndiigbo back home will believe that APC is not an anti-Igbo party.
It cannot be the other way round.

3. Good argument. But why was this same argument not made when Tinubu despite OBJ 8yrs presidency and Osibanjo 8yrs VP post, was still picked in the APC primaries?
Yes I know you will still go back to shouting "bridge building", but when we show you that Ogbannaya Onu has been building bridge since 1999, you will turn round again and claim that Ogbannaya Onu brings nothing to the table because his Igbo people didn't vote APC president. But then we remind you that OBJ became PDP candidate in 1999 despite SW not being a PDP zone then.
You will still change goal post.
So it's obvious you will hide under any redundant excuse to push your Igbophobic rhetorics.

NB: I am totally in support of Igbo APC senators not getting the Senate presidency, because it would mean that they were rewarded for betraying their own people back home.
It's more satisfying for me as an Igbo to see them crushed and humiliated by Igbophobic Nigerians they pitched their tents with while denigrating their own people back home.

You are Nigerians but you are politically unfortunate and being religated politically, because Igbos are not trustworthy in all facet of life. No tribe wants to rely on your tribe as far as Nigeria is concerned

Akpabio is better than OUK a million times, so you go ahead and wail grin grin grin

XY23:

Lol. The bridge OUK has been building since 1999 is not due for commissioning in your famous 'one Nigeria'? At least, no one can argue he's detribalized. What disqualifies him but qualifies Akpabio? Both are criminals, both are ambitious, but OUK is a better party man. Igbophobia is real, and the sooner they realize it and stop trying to pander to the blackmail of 'building bridges', the better for them. In 4 yrs time, Umahi will also be discredited one way or another. You're all hypocrites.

Well, not that one expects anything extraordinary from whoever occupies the seat rather than approving loans. And no, discussing about issues that can affect your very own life is not wailing, grow up.
