TheGoodJoe:Why e no create am make Belgium take win world cup. Abi world best player. If Ronaldo and messi isnt in this era, debrune still wont be among tpp best 3 players in the world and thats fact. Bro , its your opinion and it's fine. Respect others who rate zizou above debrune. 2 Likes |

Toylove: It takes a team effort to win a world cup. We are judging individual careers. If you compare Zidane and De Bruyne individually, you will see that de Bruyne is more effective. |

TheGoodJoe:I can show you a clip of games zizou single handedly won for France in big tournaments The three I can remember is beating Brazil both in 98 finals and 2006 quarter finals Abi semi then semi finals of euro 2000 against Portugal |

Papi85:I have broken it down. Zidane was not the best in the club in 98. Del Piero was. He was not the best in club football, Ronaldo was. He was not the best in his country at the world cup. He missed three games. Ronaldo De Lima scored five and was standout. But magically, he was world best. He was not. If you disagree, explain to me how Zidane was world best in 98. |

Toylove: I wonder what is bias here. My point is simple. De Bruyne plays the attack midfield in a more effective manner than the greats. |

Eduardo Camavinga. That's the post. Class Act in that first half, heavily involved in Vinicius' Goal. Ran the length of the pitch while under press from back to front, interchanging passes with Modric midway through his run in midfield. A left footed midfielder delivering a classic inverted LB role superbly and not just in his defensive half but in the offensive as well. Brilliant. 3 Likes 2 Shares

Papi85: Three games is not his whole career. I can bet Emmanuel Petit played better than Zidane in the 98 finals. It was the corner kick headers that skyrocketed his stocks. |

TheSuperNerd: I think the Modric pass to Vinicius was the key that did the final damage. That is what I describe as excellence. You don't need all the flicks in the world to dismantle a defensive shape. Camavinga has been a problem and is giving Bernardo Silva a tough time. I think Pep needs to bring Mahrez on and drop Rodri deeper to help shield Vinicius. With Mahrez drifting into the deep areas, he will be able to connect with De Bruyne more and can wreck havoc by overloading the half space on Real Madrid's left. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:14pm On May 09, 2023 |
@Bolded... You mean Modric's intelligent return pass to Camavinga before Cama picked out Vinicius. And yes, Cama have done a great on Bernardo Silva (a hard thing to do for most). But KDB and Silva just combined on Cama's wing to open up that Madrid left side in the counter. What you want Mahrez to do, I think Bernardo also can but so far Madrid defence is standing strong. mostob: I'll disagree with your last paragraph to some extent... Remember he was amazing at Wolfsburg.....with City, things are much easier for him... But he is definitely nowhere near the class of Zidane |

Nope He didn't. Lillian Thuram and Marcel Desailly did. But definitely not Petit. I understand and have carefully followed the argument of TheGoodJoe vs Everyone on KDB vs Zidane but I implore you Sir Joe, not to disregard Zidane in any form just because you prefer Kevin de brains. And same to everyone. Don't disrespect the talents of KDB in this era all in a bid to emphasize the genius that Zidane was. TheGoodJoe, you must understand something. Zidane and KDB are two distinct interpretations of the CAM role. KDB is more of an elite chances creator but Zidane was the classical controller/Game Conductor. This is why their stats defer. KDB is a midfielder who is also an accomplished goal scorer in his role but Zidane was a super playmaker of the first class order. TheGoodJoe: 4 Likes |

Kevin De Bruyne showing you all why indeed he is arguably the finest midfielder of his generation. He just pulled that strike in front of everyone at the Prestigious Santiago Bernabeu. I laughed when I saw some posts saying they will pick Yaya Toure over KDB. Please don't insult KDB just because you wanna make a case for the Genius of Zidane. Trust me. I am of the school of thought that picks Zidane over KDB but abeg, give KDB his flowers. He is too Elite. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Yea zizou is Great, but the way people here belittle Kevin de bryune is crazy. Some almost qualify him As “above average” If you are going to call any midfielder this era, Kevin must be number 1. See that cross he made in the first half while unbalanced. Haha. They play. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:42pm On May 09, 2023 |
I won't hide. I will repeat it as said in my last post. Zidane over KDB all day for me but this is because Zidane transcended what the stats could even pick up. Kevin de brains is as elite as true elites come and can create chances aplenty with his elite passing and insane crossing but Zidane was practically a midfield god who controlled everything in a game. And I mean everything. The argument of KDB vs Zidane is simply Elite Chances Creator vs Elite Game Controller. Stats will easily pick out the goals and assists of chances creators but won't pick out the game influence of Genuine Midfield Conductors/Dictators. EOD. Toylove: 3 Likes |
