I've been working on my 2003 Toyota matrix for a while now, replacing defective parts and restoring the car to being as close as manufacturer specs as possible.

I've replaced the gear already, working perfectly too. Now, the next thing is the engine. I asked the person who replaced my gear for a quote for a direct Japan 1zz Fe engine, and here's the quote he gave me;

Estimate for engine replacement:
Complete Engine 600,000
Engine Oil 5w30 23,000
Oil filter 2,000
Silencer Packings 5,000
Miscellaneous 7,000
Service charge 40,000
Total 677,000

I don't know if the quote is fine or not, especially with the engine price. Yes, he replaced my gear with a direct Japan gear, but I'm just thinking if the engine price isn't too much.

Please I need your views.

The price is, way too much, complete engine without compressor is 400k

Impossible. 1mz self has more demand because of multiple applications. It's used in lexus, highlander and camry

What I know is called complete engine sef is engine plus all accessories untampered with including transmission. Maybe because of inflation nah why those things were removed. Because b4 if engine only is 150 to 200k, complete is sold for 500plus.
