Maybe the party felt that there was no need pussyfooting. Announcing their choice now will prepare them for any eventuality in the future.
The HOR speaker is more dicey.
Looks like Betara is pulling more weight than Abbas , even Wase is strong.

Abbas is because of el rufai.that is the only thing he demands as compensation for supporting tinubu.betara and wase are stronger.I even prefer doguwa.but with nw getting DSP,nc should get speaker while se gets sgf.It is even funny that pdp will back yari and betara.even if they should back someone,it should align with zoning

PDP needs a popular candidate among the APC's senators/HORs and Betara it seemed is one.
Zoning doesn't matter now. Afterall PDP rebeled against rotation at the presidential level.

No,with apc holding Muslim Muslim and ne producing vp,pdp must be sensitive.wase is equally popular.doguwa was in pdp.
Wase is equally popular.it will only make them to ostracize betara

Bringing muslims as speaker is not an issue as far as its not from sw ne? Apc are trying to correct that mistake of 2015 2019

If not for saraki in the 9th senate, Nigeria would have been in trouble by now...if Yari leadership in the house will make the executive sit tight and put them on their toes its a welcome development...we don't need a rubber stamp senate anymore...the damage lawan has done is enough...

The truth is that the senators are afraid and are being cautious on whom gets the Senate presidency and house of rep . They no tinubu is very likely not going to be president.

No matter how they plan, they have it at the back of their mind that constitutionally Nigeria has no president elect.

Will the CJN damn the consequences and swear in an unconstitutional president? I don't think so. I don't see that happening.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and keep watching. Events kicks off on monday.
But one certain sure fact I know is PODATTI is coming.
The new OBIDIENT Nigeria is at hand.
keep dreaming

Yari won't go far.
Unless he can mobilise 20 of APC's senators.
NNPP 2 senators will likely vote someone from the south
Same with SDP ; It was rumoured that Gov. Sule entered a pact with them in exchange for support at the guber poll.
Abaribe has something against Akpabio, the only Apga senator may vote according to PDP's plan
Ypp,and LP senators will likely queue to Akpabio as they and Akpabio are southerners to prevent dragging by the constituents in coming elections that the stood as a cog in the wheel against their southerner SP ambition
Then PDP: Jaj and the Rivers state senators are likely to be for Akpabio.
So Yari is left with roughly 33 senators

Go and tell that to the over 6 million people that voted for him on a labour party platform .

Clown.

Two people had more than 6milion. Obi will never rule Nigeria. Never!

None of the other two would have gotten 6 million votes if they ran under labour party or any third force ticket.

Infact no other third force candidate has ever gotten close to that percentage of total votes cast while winning both Lagos and Abuja, in the history of Nigerian elections.

Obi will rule Nigeria one day, and nobody in your family history or ethnic group can stop it.

Obi would never had gotten half of 6m if he ran under APC or PDP too. Only a political enigma like Tinubu could have won under a terribly defamed and maligned party like the APC.

I repeat, your lord and savior obiscam will never rule Nigeria. Never! Your entire family and lineage can't make it happen. Obi remains an Ipob candidate and a dangerous religious and ethnic bigot. Cry blood 🤣
