Like I gave in my reply above, 1.75 trillion shillings can't be 17 Billion dollars. Let me post your top 5 companies again. Safaricom literally owns Kenyan market. This is the real monopoly.

Top 4 for kenya are strictly Kenyan owned.

Top 4 in Ghana; apart from the one man Dangote firm, are not Nigerian owned.

If we go apples for apples, kenya takes it.back to my point:

In top ten largest companies; No Nigeria firm is represented. Correct?

In top ten largest company by Market carp; kenya is represented, correct?

Wrong; it's $13Billion as calculated by @generaldae. Your calculation sucks! Maybe it's because your cognitive ceiling is at Dwarf level.

Don't pope your nose into big boys affairs. Ghana market capitalization 2023 is a paltry $6B. That's how irrelevant Ghana is.
Yeah it's Sad that Ghana market cap has drop from 32 billion to 6 billion dollars but it is climbing back up.

You've forgotten we are in may and your exchange rate is 136 official and not 130 if March

First 1.75trnksh is not upto $17bn.

And for the bold why?
I still can't believe Kenyan shillings has depreciated to that level. I'm in disbelief. But yeah, ksh1.7tn is $13B. What is your point?

It has actually appreciated from $5B to $6B. Lie to your fellow dwarfs, not to intellects who are versed with web scrapping.

The data I posted was for January; when exchange rate was 128 there about. Don't peddle rumors. Fact-check _ FIRST!

Lol. BUA cement is part of the top four. BUA cement and Dangote cement combined is around 16.9 Billion dollars, bigger than the entire Kenyan market share.
Only 3 companies from the Nigerian top ten are foreign.
MTN, Airtel, and Nestle.

Your biggest is at 11.9 Billion dollars while your second biggest is struggling at 1.6 Billion dollars. Dangote is at 11.2 Billion dollars and still rising faster than Safaricom at the moment.

Your entire market is basically Safaricom. This is not good. No wonder your market has been struggling. If Safaricom goes under, the market is at Botswana levels.

Safaricom/Mpesa the bedrock of Kenyan economy.
I think Safaricom should expand more in this case and not depend too much on the East African market since they are the lifeblood of the East African Equities.

Again, that's not what I addressed. Mind you_ we can dig dipper and invent per-capita. I kid you not, Nigeria is struggling in that regard, and by virtue of having several single-owned companies. Why are foreign companies thriving in Nigeria? Population! Kenya is good at where we are.

Safaricom is the biggest company in kenya and Nigeria ; do you agree? YES or NO answer will suffice.

No one is disputing your total market caputalization. You have population ; pretty much five times than kenya. Meaning; you should be doing more or less $60B _ then you have the advantage of Airtel and MTN. cool.

MTN Nigeria is not foreign, Nestle Nigeria is also not wholly foreign, only Airtel NG has a significant foreign shares that local shares.

And Kenya biggest company safaricom is not wholly owned by Kenyans.

Per capita again?? 😄.
Note that Nigeria has huge disparity in exchange rate which has drastically reduced foreign investors in our market. So the investors in those stocks are over 95% local as at 2023.
Market used to be valued at over 100 Billion dollars not too long ago.

yes and that is why I said it's going up.
It was 32 billion dollars before.

The data is telling you is for 1st quarter ending March when kshs was 130. In this second quarter kshs is 136 and that is why it has dropped to 12 billion for Kenya.

They would insist since the parent company is foreign, then it must be foreign.
