Because other siblings usually follow the foot step of the first child when they are still very young, parents often take their first child as a 'third parent'


The first child(ren ) are usually treated like an adult and are denied childhood. Under this condition, if the parents are rich, educated and the home is peaceful, the first child would be fine and grow to be strong responsible adult.

But if the parents are poor, sick, in poverty, break up or in perpetual domestic violence, the first child who have been conditioned by the parents to be acting as 'third parent' would be worried and could run into depression because he or she is still a child. The poor parents will make first child to shoulder responsibilities bigger than him/her like hawking, bathing for the siblings, cooking, washing etc and will have less time to play as child. Couple with the parents' abject poverty or domestic violence, the child will not be mentally balanced.

Depression would becloud him or her because he has learnt to be glued to the parents, he/she could carry this to adulthood and could grow to be an introvert if the depression has become a chronic one.

The chronic depression will later affects him psychologically and his body metabolism. The muscle will start twitching, twisting and may results in slurring or he/she could simply be falling sick. These will later make him or her not to be able to socialize denying him or her A LOT of opportunities.
