WhereMyLoud:Going to Warri back then was a big battle. You can’t enter the city with any vehicle bearing the logo of a popular company. Anywhere you park Agebros will bombard you like bees asking for Deve. Benin also borrowed some format from this and drove many potential investors away. The Benin by pass saved a lot of people and businesses from Agberos lurking in every part of the city. Robbery is very common along the bypass till this day. 2 Likes |

shortgun: You are the greatest bigot that wants to impose IPOB miscreants on the Lagosians as Governor ( Chinedu Gbadebo Rhodes) under disguise - for a man who could not speak his father language, who could not greet an Oba,nor remove his cap in Oba's Palace as a respect, who was seen in his Twitter Accounts carrying IPOB Flag, yet Obi is aware of all these and feign ignorance? Lagosians will not allowed destruction of her City as being advocated during Lekki End SARS-because,Lekki is not Abuja- where Political decisions are made! If you are still pained because of elections, just move on,Nigeria has since moved past the elections periods! Another four years will be counting in weeks to come! O P have stated the obvious of War in any Society,so is left for those who want to learn from history,as history will always repeate itself! 3 Likes |

Ireportlive:Why do you guys take pleasure in swimming in lies after lies in the guise to defend Tinubu with his many shady personae? Tinudu never worked for Exxonmobil let alone being a treasurer there, Tinubu only worked for company called Mobil Oil which is a small company compared to Exxonmobil which is a multination company.

I used to believe all these stories that communal crisis brought Warri down......but for me that is not totally correct. The major problems are as follows; 1. Lack of government focused attention to support and encourage industrial development. For a major oil producing state there is no single industrial complex like those you have in Port Harcourt, Kano or Lagos. That means Govt has not set aside, developed and marketed any industrial area of any kind for so many years. 2. Most major development occur in state capitals because it is the center of govt and the state governor is on hand to supervise, monitor and advance the progress of the capital at least and give it some profile. They will host national and international visitors e.g foreign heads of state, governors meetings etc. All of these attract development to the area not just of facilities but of minds and brings in exposure. All of these are absent in Warri area in spite of its prominence in Nigeria. 3. The government focused too much on the security side of things hence indirectly connoted the state as being very unsafe. Many people on their first trip meeting permanent sandbagged checkpoint especially at the airport gave them a very bad impression of the city even without witnessing any crime. 4. The unending construction of the entrance to town and total poor outlook of that entire area gives a very bad image of the town and a big discouragement to any would be investors. 5. Since 1999 the state govt has not lobbied or tried to create a lobby to attract any major federal investment to the state. So while ethnic crisis or youth restiveness is an issue it is not a cause but the result of years of neglect and lack of development. 1 Like |

A lots of idiots on this thread, especially from a particular section of the country. All Lagos asked was to keep out of its local politics. Do your business, and live a peaceful life...but when it comes to power, leave that to the owners of the state. Chinese cities attract all kinds of investment from the West and different parts of the world, but never will foreigners pokenose in their affairs. If Jack Ma can disappear for days because of saying just few things against the government, despite being an indigene, na foreigner own go hard? And that hasn't caused Beijing, Shanghai, etc., to become ghost cities like some people here are wishing Lagos. What happened in Lagos is simple—do what you came here to do—business. And it's not only you in Lagos that knows how to do business. If you leave, others will take your place. Lagos has been bubbling right from precolonial, colonial, and now post-colonial days. You now coming and leaving is just a story in a chapter, ready to be filled by another. I'm still waiting for when Dubai will be like "Warri" despite the Emiratis banning Nigerians with all our money, contribution, and how we "developed" Dubai real estates... Idiots. 5 Likes |

Kingcalls: I marvel at your ignorance. Igbos can't leave Lagos and you know that is the truth. Talking about Lagos economy collapsing, you don't know much. You think it's by operating 2 by 2 shops ,production is what propels the economy of a state. California is the largest state economy in the world, production is what drives such economies and not retail trade. Trading does not add to the GDP of a state. The major activity ibos do in Lagos is trading, they need a market for that, which Lagos readily supplies. Lagos is the cash cow. 3 Likes |

Titogbanski:Yes you are right, we have them at old tollgate along Lagos Ibadan Expressway...even till now, but not as aggressive and daring as what used to happen in Warri back then. Entering Anambra after the Niger bridge offers the same treatment to companies. I used to work for Asaba textile mills back then, we used to buy NaoH on emergency needs at times from Onitsha when we run out of supply, it's always a big battle to Navigate those Agberos lurking around the bridge. Today Asaba textile mills no longer operates due to many of these problems and of course financial issues. 1 Like |

Kingcalls: I have given you the truth. Trading adds little or nothing to the GDP, so if ibos leave lagos, it's their loss, Lagos won't feel a thing. All the major manufacturing hubs in Nigeria are domiciled in the southwest. That should tell you something. 3 Likes |

northbird: And Igbos don't own manufacturing companies in lagos ? abi some top financial institutions are not owned by Igbos ... Real estates , hospitality, health care ...the biggest markets in Africa are run by the Igbos, Alaba, ComputerVillage, Ladipo , Trinity, Balogun , ASPANDA, Idumota , Alaba suru ... remove igbos and these markets will collapse , and if u do not know that a chunk of revenue comes from these markets , then as I said ur ignorance is dangerous to society 1 Like |
