oil and gas is not as profitable as it used to be. We have been paying subsidy for over 30 years, we have huge loans to repay, our population is too large for subsidies too. Tinubu has said he will scrap it . Make we dey watch

Rubbish fronting and money laundering machine is this man. .

Why not allow other players with synergies to invest into that sector. . ?

Govt always giving a monopoly to Dangote in all sectors that he is involved in . . Because he fronts for them. .

Its still the guys frameworking subsidy payments that will be gaining inflows from Dangote refinery. .

Have you tried to imagine why federal government will never repair existing refineries or bring up new ones?

Same cabals. Same evil.

I just hope they’ll sell crude oil to Dangote refinery in Naira and at lower price compared to international market prices. That may help reduce the cost of fuel

It won't really do much in terms of price reduction as far as subsidies are removed

Great! So why are we still debating and delaying the removal of the fuel subsidy which appears to only enrich the wealthy and powerful?

Same cabals. Same evil.

Obviously there is still a lot of people filled with hatred on this platform which definitely affects their thinking..

Please be reminded that several private investors were given licenses to build refineries in Nigeria.. we didn't hear from them.

2.) Nothing has never stopped anyone in investing in refineries.. they probably thought of subsidies which you benefit from..Dangote took a bold step and decided to do what multiple investors would have done years ago.. subsidies or not .

3.) Have you questioned why the rich oil and gas companies continued to milk the country off it oil and sell like that rather than find a way to refine them?.. oh that is your problem.

But you want to hate someone who took some much risks, borrowed from multiple banks to build something no body including Government wants to build because they don't have the interest of Nigerians at heart..instead of appreciate..you are wailing

It is only monopoly if Government delicensed anyone who wanted to build which has never happened

Sometimes, many people like you think you are slandering the country intentionally with you fake stat like one presidential candidate in the just concluded general election but in the real sense of it, you are destroying yourself and your generation because all of you are part of who made up Nigeria!

As at today in Ghana, minimum price of cement is an equivalent of $8.30. You can do the maths yourself if you wish.

Lagos alone can boast of over $120B GDP while the entire Ghana has a paltry $66B GDP in 2023.

Oh, I forgot having a logical argument online is such a waste of time.

Nooo guy.... Folks like myself dey learn from Nairaland's comments. Keep it on!

Sometimes you wonder why so many Nigerians are ignorant of basic economics. It's befuddling.

And when you try to correct them, the next thing is they will shout "do you know who I am" or "why are you insulting me".

Nigeria and its people have a looooong way to go.
