Another stupid Lunatic comment

IMF did not go through it normal processes to accept Ghana's offer.

It is unheard off in the IMF to dispatch a first tranche of 600 million dollars ((20%) and in time the frame it is giving to Ghana. It is also unheard off to give 40% of the money in the First year.
They should never have given Ghana this offer as money is not the problem of Ghana.

Anyway, I learnt Kenya is negotiating it 3 iMF bailout in the space of 3 years . How is that going ?

What saved Ghana is less Chinese loans so it easier to conclude debt restructuring compared to your twin country Zambia. Ghana a whole decade plus to recover from default. YOU WILL NOT GET IT MAD MAN

Ghana recovered even before the IMF negotiations... What saved Ghana was prudent spending else it would have join Kenya in the mess of owing salaries and defaulting on debt, Savings it had for times like these and the fact that Ghana did not borrowed crazily from China.
Ghana will return to the Eurobond market before the year ends.

It will take Kenya 2 decades to recover from the mess it has created. Kenya's problem is, it can no longer take on debt and any attempt to do so will only sink that country deeper.
Unless Kenya gets debt forgiveness

The mess in Kenya has gotten worse. It is continuing it external borrowing to pay salaries. 4.5 billion dollars being borrowed to pay salaries.

Do far, Ruto has borrowed almost 15 billion dollars since he took office

He had one job, stop borrowing for a period

If you can barely understand your own country - how can you understand Kenya. Ruto to borrow 15b dollars in 8 months would be something smiley.

We have two months to close the budget - 1.5months - borrowing is at 50% of the target (which was something 7-8B dollars) - revenues at 90%.

I know, my intent was not to brag (far from it of course). Also, not all my posts are for bragging. Some are made to highlight other points.

The contradiction here is how can such a thing happen in poverty capital of the world? So either this report is false or the other report is false.

This is why I believe most African countries should find ways to collect efficient data.

This lack of reliable data is one of our biggest problems in most of Africa.
Yes,proper data collection is a big problem in africa that's why we are having all these fake GDP figures because of that.
If u go to most of statistics agency in africa, gov stats will show how a country x is doing great in agriculture by producing various crops in a fairly good quantities.

Should I list the loans for you

He took 3 billion dollars from AfDB
Now 4.5 billion from WB

We've not even talked about local borrowing and other monies from the world bank and other petty loans from so many sources.

Go to proper school. There will be no day kenya or any other country will stop borrowing. We have to reduce borrowing until it's sustainable and also have to understand risks of overborrowing if covid or war emerges.

President Ruto: Last budget we had a deficit of almost KSh1 trillion - this 2022/2023 that is ending in a june 30th.
In this budget we have reduced it to KSh600 billion- Ruto maiden budget will start on July 1st.

That is how you progressively reduce budget deficit until you get something like -4.5% - which sustainable.

is 1 trillion not around 40% deficit? And you think that will drop magically especially when he's making the problem worse by widening the gap with 15 billion borrowing?

You have little knowledge about how economics work and how commodities work. Cyclical fluctuation of supply and demand are normal. Kenya has 16-20 sugar factories - compared to your measly 5. Deal with it. You're also too poor to consume lots of sugar.

Thre is a lack of cane, your story of demand and supply don't apply here.
It could have made sense if cane prices are too high because of demand, but what is happening there is a total lack of cane. Surprisingly, your statistics agency will say you produce more cane than TZ while you have very few sugar factories with less capacity

You're an mad cow of course with little knowledge.

Kenya will pay back 1.4 trillion - and borrow 800B in the next budget - that means we are slowlying pay off our debt (principal) - and reducing debt to gdp. Ghana you've basically suspended paying for most of debt principals until 2027.

Ruto has borrowed way less than Uhuru budgetted by refusing to hike interest rate on domestic debt.
Therefore there has been very low subscription to kenya treasury bonds.
That is why we are not even 50% of budgetted borrowing with a month to go.
Ruto is keen to get cheap concessional foreign loans from IMF/WB/AFDB and such.
And to reduce domestic borrowing - and of course commercial loans.

The impact - of course - banks will be forced to lend to private sector and individuals - who will then grow the economy.

Again that is normal in any commodity. The cane shortages is temporary. It will sort itself in a few weeks. It called normal supply and demand challenges. You dont plant sugar cane and harvest tomorrow. There is no coordination of when farmers plant. Sometimes they all plant at same time. Very normal - even for maize or sweet potatoes or cashew nuts or beans.

It just basic of capitalism - supply - demand - prices - market - issues get fixed. There is no TZ central planning kind of economy your small brain can comprehend.

Lunatic.. the facts do not support the plan he had

As he has borrowed more than anything he planned to do ... Let's see what loans he has taken so far.
He lied that he won't borrow to pay salaries like his predecessor but is doing that.
3 months into Ruto presidency, he borrowed 407 billion kshs and by the sixth months he had already done 1 trillion kshs

Now he has gotten 578 billion kshs from the world bank and in the first week of May he got 300 billion plus kshs from Afriexim bank .

Now he is waiting for 1.1 billion dollars RSF from IMF.. I'm sure you can do proper additionπŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Mad cow, that just reinforced what I said, Ruto is going for cheap concessional loans;
Secondly ministries, counties and cdf - are not salaries - they are development budget mostly.
The last month - gov will be dealing with pending bills - and closing the books - so we dont transfer problems.

Salaries are not in any arrears.

Areas are in county development allocation, CDF - Constituency Development Funds - and ministries with projects.

You are funny
But anyway let me teach u as usual......

Sugarcane farming takes a year or something to be ready for havest unlike your beans which is just a few months are enough for it.
Since factories needs a continuous supply,in Tanzania, all these sugar factories have their own farms and they also signed a long term contracts with small scale farmers for supplying sugarcane. So,in Tanzania it's unheard of for a sugar factory to lack sugarcane. Everything is properly planned, well executed, and at the end, everything runs smoothly day in day out.
But your kenyan story is saddening, seeing a sugar factory lacking a cane? It's laughable really.

It disprove your talking point that he has borrowed only 800bn kshs

26 things Dangote Refinery wants you to know about its
4 days to the commissioning of the 650,000 bpd Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, the company issued a fact sheet of the important details it wants the public to know about it.

1. A World class Refinery

2.The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, covering a land area of approximately 2,635 hectares (seven times the size of Victoria Island.)

3. β€’ World’s Largest Single-Train 650,000 barrels per day Petroleum Refinery with 900 KTPA Polypropylene Plant.

4. β€’ The 435 MW Power Plant in the Refinery alone will be able to meet the total power requirement of Ibadan DisCo of 860,316 MWh covering five States including Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara and Ekiti.

5. β€’ Dangote Petroleum Refinery can meet 100% of the Nigerian requirement of all refined products (Gasoline, 53 million litres per day; Diesel, 34 litres per day; Kerosene, 10 million litres per day and Aviation Jet, 2 million litres per day) and also have a surplus of each of these products for export.
6. β€’ Designed for 100% Nigerian Crude with the flexibility to process other crudes.

7. β€’ Self-sufficient Marine facility with the ability for freight optimization. Largest single order of 5 SPMs anywhere in the world.

8. β€’ Diesel & Gasoline Products from the refinery will conform to Euro V specifications.

9. β€’ The refinery design complies to World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) emission/effluent norms.

10. β€’ State- of- the- art technology.

11. β€’ Designed to process a large variety of crudes including many of the African Crudes, some of the Middle Eastern Crudes and the US Light Tight Oil.

12. β€’ Dangote Petroleum Refinery can meet 100% of the Nigerian requirement of all liquid products (Gasoline, Diesel, Kerosene & Aviation Jet) and also would have surplus of each of these products for export.

13 β€’ 65 Million Cubic Metres of Sand dredged costing approx. Euros 300 Million, using the world’s largest, the second largest and the tenth largest dredgers to elevate the height by 1.5 metres, to insure against any potential impact of the increase in mean sea level due to global warming.

14. β€’ Bought over 1,209 units of various equipment to enhance the local capacity for site works since even the biggest local civil contractors are unable to handle even small portions of our construction requirement.

15. β€’ Bought 332 cranes to build up equipment installation capacity since the current capacity in Nigeria is extremely poor.

16. β€’ Built the world’s largest granite quarry to supply coarse aggregate, stone column material, stone base, stone dust & material for breakwater. (10 million tonnes per year production capacity).

17. β€’ Developed a port and constructed two quays with a load-bearing capacity of 25 tonnes/ sq meter to bring Over Dimensional Cargoes close to the site directly.

18. β€’ Constructed two more quays in the port with a capacity to handle up to Panamax vessels to export the fertilizer and the petrochemicals and two quays to handle liquid cargoes. The port will thus have 6 quays, including a Roll-on/Roll-off quay.

19. β€’ In the course of the civil works, some days 700 piles were drilled daily, and the total number of piles came to 250,000.

20. β€’ It has 177 tanks of 4.742 billion litre capacity.

21. β€’ Total tanker loading of 2,900. This number is based on tanker capacity of 33KL.

22. β€’ Dangote is one of the few companies in the world executing a Petroleum Refinery and a Petrochemical complex directly as an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor. Globally, apart from three companies, no individual owner has done the complete EPC Contract for a Petroleum Refinery.

23. β€’ Temporary housing units on the premises can house 33,000 persons.

24. β€’ The project utilised the coordination of various local and international suppliers and the coordination of multi-cultural work teams.

25. β€’ The Dangote Refinery Plant is a legacy project that will see Nigeria netting 21 billion dollars per annum.

26. β€’ Training of 900 young engineers in refinery operations outside the country. Another six Mechanical Engineers trained in GE University in Italy. 50 Process engineers trained by Honeywell/UOP for six months; 50 Management Trainees; secondment for succession.
