The monkey didn't know that Zambia had any deal with the imf. Unknown to him what he sees the Zambian president doing are just imf backed reforms that would be reviewed by imf officers before the Zambia could qualify for the full imf package. See what the illiterate said earlier before you opened his eyes:

Yes

It's quite credible and the African development bank got something similar 12 years ago except for the fact that in the world bank own for 2021, Kenya has retrogressed

There's a YouTube video with the breakdown on consumer markets
For people to be able to spend they need to have their basic needs sorted first...10$ in some african countries will only help you survive cos of how expensive basic amenities are...in other countries it will get u basic amenities and enough to spend on other foreign products...that why most companies are not going to cameroun over kenya...

the only companies going to Kenya are FMCG which depends on population size.

Those looking at the high earn market prefer Cameroon over Kenya based on the spending power except for their political issues hindering their growth

Liar!!!
Cocobod said Monday's loan, significantly less than the $1.5 billion secured last year, was oversubscribed by $130 million.

Ghana's parliament had approved a larger $1.3 billion loan at the end of July.

The loan's lead arrangers were Cooperative Rabobank, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), DZ Bank, MUFG Bank, Natixis, Standard Chartered, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and the Ghana International Bank.

Lol no, people are poking hole in it, because it makes absolutely zero sense.

I’ve stayed in Cameroon before so I have an idea what I’m talking about, how can you compare Yaoundé with Nairobi.

In what magical universe?

Cameroon having that population with higher spending will have been translated in reality, there’s no such reality.

Are you serious right now, I have still not seen the world bank report on this.

It’s fictitious.

You think luxury market is bigger in Yaoundé than Nairobi?

You believe luxury market is bigger in Accra than in Lagos ?

That Data is false .

This is a credible data from AFDB.

It put the number as 17% for Nigeria and 13% for Ghana.

I can’t believe Cameroon having a higher middle class than Kenya, and ghana having a higher middle class than Nigeria.

That’s just pure wishful thinking.
There are conflicting reports everywhere. It's why Africans generally must work on having
more accurate data.

For instance, Kenyan Central Bank just released data 2 days ago of Kenyans who hold 100,000 shillings (around 800 dollars) in their bank accounts and they increased in 2022 to 1.9 million people (4% of population).

If the Central Bank of Kenya is correct, then it would be impossible to have just 1.8 million people capable of spending 10 dollars daily.
I think that report just made their own wild guess and estimates based on so called monetary poverty rate.

Except they are not comparing Yaounde and Nairobi.

They are comparing the spending Capita of it residence and found out that Yaounde residents have more disposable income to spend at the upper middle class level hence businesses that look at pricing in the upper middle class range will most likely choose Cameroon for business than Kenya.

I've also been to Cameroon and I know they love to spend especially in the upper range to show class

Yes I'm serious

Go and watch the YouTube video, I've played with the world bank data before when I was demonstrating the middle class size of each country on this platform but I've forgotten the website. You can take the pain to search for it on this platform.

Yes and the world Bank says so, the last time we checked Nairobi middle class size, it was less than 5 million people so I'm not surprised that their upper middle class is only 1.8 million.

Yes I believe so as well, looking at the spending capacity of both countries in their respective currencies. Nigeria has the largest consumer market in Africa because the world bank place it middle class size at around 40 million people 23% of population and that of Ghana is 15 million people around 50% of population. But when they adjust the spending rate to target the upper middle class Nigeria gets 3 million and Ghana gets 5 million.

For now, it's the only credible data investors have on consumer spending to make their investment decisions.

Yes the data is made base on monetary poverty rate and for the Central Bank of Kenya to prove them almost right by a slight margin of error using savings data and also prove AfDB right for giving Kenya 4% like their central bank got, I think there's something there.

Kenyan Central Bank says 4% of the population have up to 800 dollars and above in their Bank accounts. So logically, I believe people capable of spending 10 dollars should be higher in percentage.

I don't think they will be higher than that 4% because you can't spend what you don't have looking at the fact that Kenya says it has 100% bankable population.

So the 4% is just 4% and understandable considering AfDB give it upper middle class size as 4% 12 years ago

still not getting the point...you cant spend on luxury if u need 10$ to survive daily....cameroon is also quite expensive compared to kenya...same way you basically need 10$ to just survive in ghana daily...and people earning 10$ in nigeria can survive ,save and spend on other things...

When a company is trying to invest...they dont just look at how much people earn...they look at how much remains after people pay for basic amenities, tax etc..what is the point of earning 1000000$ if transport takes half that..and feeding and rent the remaining..u have nothing left to buy other things

You've still not understood what is being talked about, see how you're all around the place.

The world bank uses various spending levels from 1.9 dollars to 10 dollars to measure income levels in societies all around the world.

Go and learn the purpose of those measurements and come back, you'll gather an understanding of what is happening here
