Senegal just 6 mins away from holding all African titles at all levels (except u23) in Men's football.

Literally about to have my question answered.

A clean sweep indeed.

TheSuperNerd:
Senegal for another African Title? Time will tell

Senegal currently hold the Afcon, Beach Soccer Afcon, CHAN, and U20 Afcon Titles.

Would they add the U17 Afcon title to their collection? We shall see. It would be tough though. Nigeria, Mali and even Zambia would have something to say about that.

Senegal U17 kicks off their U17 Afcon Campaign today vs Congo before Our Golden Eaglets take to the pitch later today vs Zambia. Would be beamed live on Super Sports (Channel 209) and also on the CAF YT Channel.

Senegal and Moroccan players literally got into a squabble in the 2nd min of added time.

The tension is at its peak.

Senegal still hanging on.

This Commentator sef. He has been mentioning Victor Osimhen's 4 goals at the U17 Afcon being surpassed by Amara Diouf of Senegal.

Meanwhile we had a lad who bagged 6 in the 2017 edition and he isn't mentioning that one.

Na wa. I understand shaa. Osimhen is literally Africa's biggest star from the U17 Afcon in recent years.

Senegal are U17 Afcon Champions FOR THE 1ST TIME in their history.

It is finished in Algeria. It is done.

Senegal 2-1 Morocco. A late late turnaround win. It was enough.

When someone is backing the ball, it is not considered a deliberate handball. It has happened many times in the EPL.

Secondly a Senegalese player deliberately kicked someone on the crotch when the ball was already out of play. He was given only a yellow card. What kinda referee does that? Why did VAR review it then if it was a yellow card offence? The silly referee did not know that VAR does not review yellow card offences.

I'm not someone who likes to blame referees and I don't think I've ever blamed a referee at all when Nigeria was playing, but this guy was quite incompetent to referee a final.

Senegal!!!! 2-1. A powerful header from a corner.

Walid Regragui, Morocco's Senior team head coach stood up in shock from his seat.

What a turnaround!!!

I mentioned Walid Regragui being at the stadium. Here is a peep.

Morocco deserves it more, they dominated until that fateful penalty. Besides Morocco is the country that has spent the most on football development in Africa. Senegal is mostly dependent on talents.

Morocco has lost two finals now. I just wish those Algerian fans booing during their anthem were taught a lesson.

Lol. Morocco gave Senegal a fair fight and did even better performance-wise than they showed vs Nigeria but please don't be ridiculous. Morocco didn't dominate. Senegal did (evidence attached).

Look, just let it rest. You already revealed your preference clearly when you said "rooting for morocco" and also wanting them to win to spite the Algerians.

Don't forget that I am a Moroccan Football fan myself.

Preference doesn't mean you cannot be objective. Morocco dominated the first half. I don't recall seeing any Senegalese impact in that half.

Having a preference doesn't mean I cannot point out what the referee did wrong. The blind hand ball and the VAR yellow card.

But you are clearly not being objective by putting forward the saying that Morocco dominated till the Senegal penalty when they didn't. So yes, your preference is affecting your take.

For the records, Morocco fared better "performance-wise" in this final than they did vs Nigeria but Senegal still edged in game dominance today.

AFCON - J. Peseiro - Style - all attack heavy possession football
TheGoodJoe:

Championship Champions - Burnley - Manager -- Vincent Kompany - Style -- heavy possession football
La Liga Champions - Barcelona - Manager -- Xavi Hernandes - Style -- heavy possession football
English Premier League (likely champions) - Manchester City - Manager -- Pep Guardiola - - Style -- heavy possession football[/i]

Modern football is long term winning strategy. Not short term wins and praises.

Finito.

Abeg, nothing special.
Just remove corruption and bias from nff and we are okay.
Stealing money is the problem of nff thats all.
And selectng players is based on who knows who and who can bring money
From u17 to super eagles.
NFF is poor because it has stolen the money it got from its sponsors
and the new sponsors are afraid and do not trust nff
Dangote and Dozzy Mmbousi and many milloniaires in Nigeria
can fund nff but the theives there make everything impossible.
They are so myopic, selfish and wicked
Thats all
the structures are there
youth football, fantastic football academies, players been discovered
its just that some corrupt and short sighted personalties cannot see beyong their narrow selfish ambition

Note: Senegal and Morocco is not a big deal to me
THEY ARE NOT HISTORICAL GIANTS OF AFRICAN FOOTBALL
HOW MANY TIMES HAS BOTH OF THEM REACHED AN AFCON SEMI FINAL

If we get a good coach the next world cup semi-final is sure

Stealing money is only a fruit of the problem it really isn't the problem. At the root of the problem is the law of accountability. It isn't peculiar to football really, but just about anything run by government.

Solution is simple

First, government should completely divest from football. No money at all should be given to the NFF. The only contribution government should make is with infrastructure development. The NFF should register as an LLC with only governmental oversight.

Same should apply for football clubs. Our league won't develop as long as most teams are run by state governments. It's why politics and corruption takes the center stage in the NPFL. Deregulate completely and you'll see private money come into the league. Football isn't a bad business, it's one of the smartest business a billionaire in this part of the world can invest in, but no one will when they know 95% of the structure is civil servant controlled.

Once football in Nigeria is largely private, accountability is almost always a consequence.

Mind you I respect Pep and love his tactics than Mourinho but do we need to turn football to court for easy discourse.

Tactically Pep is the best but Mourinho is a real fighter when it comes to the game.

Guardiola will use the squad of Roma team and win the seria a. It might take a season or two but he will win it. People underrate Pep's methods, but it is lethal to opponents. Every top coach now studies it, it has been run through simulators and its efficacy is unchallenged.
