BREAKING: UK Plans Visa Restriction For dependants of Nigerian Students, others

The British government may soon limit the number of dependant visas for international students from Nigeria and other countries due to an increase in net migration.

According to the Financial Times, the department of education, home office and treasury are set to finalise plans that prevent masters’ students on one year courses from bringing family members to the United Kingdom (UK).

This development may affect immigration numbers for countries like Nigeria which recorded the highest number of dependants (60,923) of sponsored study visa holders in 2022, increasing from 1,586 in 2019.

Last September, the Telegraph, a national British daily broadsheet newspaper reported that the UK government was considering tightening visa rules on how many relatives migrants can bring into the country.

Suella Braverman, UK’s Home Secretary, said there were too many students coming into the UK and needed to be cut down. “There are structural pressures that mass and rapid migration poses to our country.”

Some even do arranged marriage now in Nigeria just to go as a spouse of the actual study visa holder.

We destroy everything that comes our way with our unscrupulous approach to every matter.

We are a nuisance to every sane system.

Nigeria is not even top on the list. Be moderate with your assertion.

They probably figured that if daft Nigerians wanna continue being taken for a ride by greedy and corrupt politicians based on ethno-religious primordial sentiments….and when shit hits the fan, the wealthy ones will look to japa to the UK with their entire family based on ‘i’m a student’, then the UK just has to plug that loophole, let the daft Nigerians stay back in Nigeria and fix the mess they caused or stew in it!

They should ban Visas to Nigerians completely. UK has nothing to offer to Nigerians apart from heavy taxation. Everyone I know there is always complaining bitterly.

UK wanted them to come that was why they gave so many dependants visas. It was government policy.
It improved their economy.

But their opponents is campaigning against them that they are hypocrites, posing as anti immigration but allow in record number of immigrants.

I thought Britain was a Nigerian ally
