But pap and samp are solid food... You can't tell me that rice is solid food but pap and samp aren't. Most Nigerians come with their own food, or buy from other fellow Nigerians here in SA. illicit: 2 Likes |

Pap, beef, chakalaka, and salad. Pap is maize meal and chakalaka is some spicy veggies mixed together... You can choose any salad of your choice... I prefer this combination with some spicy beef stew. 11 Likes

I had to go back and check what you are talking about, but I couldn't see it because most of these foods are very much common in villages and townships here. Most black South Africans grew up eating them. Boss469: 1 Like |

Samantha124:I do eat Pam and samp as well But u know we mostly miss the food(swallows) we grew up eating. Hence we buy if u can't cook it... If you move abroad you will miss South African foods n therefore sought out shops that sell ur food. 21 Likes 4 Shares |

How is pap different from this swallow of yours? ghettochild4u: |
Re: List Of South African Foods by ghettochild4u(m): 8:02pm On May 21, 2023 |
Samantha124:The difference Is that pap is hard when cold and can't be enjoyed the next day.. Every Nigerian swallow can be eaten days after preparation as long as it hasn't gone stale. It doesn't get hard like pap does 18 Likes 2 Shares |

They swallows are Eba(garri),fufu, semolina, wheat flour, Amala, pounded yam, tuwo( south African pap but way softer n never gets hard like your pap). Let's say our tuwo is ur pap but imagine it been grinded again into a finer powder. 10 Likes |

Even though I've never seen Nigerian food in real life, I've seen some in few of your movies, on YouTube and here on nairaland... That thing looks like mashed potatoes... You even call it swallow because you don't chew it, you just swallow, meaning it's way too soft to chew. Your side dishes always seem too oily and what surprised me is that you guys can cook three different types of meat in one pot at the same time.. How are you guys able to taste each flavour of the meat when cooked altogether? I once watched a video whereby a Nigerian was cooking goat, chicken, and fish altogether and I was like whaaaatππππ ghettochild: 8 Likes |
