Mad cow, Germany has actually accelerated it move to green energy, after it was forced to wean itself from Russia oil and gas. And they are doing so well.
Just40:
You'll have to be a fool to damage your economy to believe in the nonsense money drain of renewables and Germany learnt the hard way.

56% of the energy comes from fossil fuels and that figure is going to rise as they have started increasing their fossil fuel import.

Untill Nuclear fusion is perfected, anyone who thinks of renewables is only playing to the gallery in a stupid politics

Thats literally what I said at the beginning.

The Earth does have a natural cycle but temperatures don't rise this quickly naturally. We rose temptures by 0.5 in just 40 years. This kind of heating would have naturally took the Earth hundreds of years if not, thousands of years, that is the point here. Then you decided to ignore the rest of what I said. Are you purposely being this disingenuous?

Also, no Kenya has been making great strives in adopting EVs as it phases out fossil fuels.

https://www.esi-africa.com/east-africa/kenya-making-great-strides-to-become-africas-electric-vehicle-hub/
how many of the 109,000 vehicles imported last year by Kenya was EV? Not even 0.5%
Kenyans can't even afford new cars let alone buy EV

Your politicians just set a 2030 target to be able to participate in the money laundering scheme.

Let's look at Kenya electricity consumption, only 50% of Kenyans have electricity and the remaining are in the dark. Geothermal can't be scaled up enough to cover them, wind and solar is too punitive to cover them so they are left in the dark

This is also bullshit as Canada energy so far at least being 60% clean that is mainly powered by hydro power that makes EVs possible as well as Norway mostly powered by hydro.

Nonsense. Ruto is so behind borrowing as he has refused to raise interest rate. With two months to go - Kenya gov borrowing was not even 50% of the target of 2022/2023.

Spend sometime and enrol in basic public finance - and maybe you will sound less like a Ghanian slowpoke.

Kenya electricity is approaching universal coverage with clean energy. The EV is still at infancy - but it by far more advanced that many in Africa.

lunatic... The same Germany that has pulled the breaks on green energy and is busy reactivating coal power plants ?

You're indeed mad... Was it not Germany signing fuel supply agreements with Qatar and African countries last year while busy increasing import of Russian gas from India ?
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 11:43am On May 24, 2023
Germany
2020- Green energy - was 40%
2023- Green energy - now at 60%.
Annually 5% increase.
That means by 2030 - Germany will be full renewable energy
And it's economy remain resilient -
And Russia energy has been removed completely.

Canada has a fool for a leader and no wonder they hate him for damaging their economy.

The same Canada is busy increasing it fossil fuel investments and looking to sign more fuel supply agreements with the US else their economy will be horribly damaged ... If Canada was serious, they will switch off all their coal power plants. They are blessed with water hence 60% of their electricity come from hydro. Wind and solar is less than 4%
It's a scam

Last census was done in 2019.
Annually we are adding 1millin connection - that is 4-5 million kenyans
2019 to now 2023 - do the maths slowpoke.
We have added 20 million more.

In 2019 - 6,069,680 - census reported those household.

In 2023 - we have 10 million household plus now.

Keep pumping numbers from your ass 🤣🤣

Germany energy mix says 56% of energy comes from fossil fuels and now they have reactivated their coal power plants which means their fossil fuels mix has climbed above 60%

Secondly, Germany never replaced Russian gas. They are busy buying Russian gas from India.

By 2030, Germany fossil fuel mix would have gotten to 75% as their every needs grow more than their capacity to invest in wind and solar.

Unless they choose to damage their economy more than they already have.

International borrowing has dried up - save for occasional IMF.

Domestic borrowing still trending behind at 44.7% of target as at close of March 2023.

Yes, the number of EVs out of 2 million resigstered vehicles so far is 671 but its slowly being phased out as its projected by 2040 50% of car sales will be 50%. Understandably because EVs have been getting cheaper and could match that of conventional motors as soon as 2025 or 2027. Even cheaper than petrol ones by 2030 at the latest.

EVs are catching fire in China - Kenya should prepare to transition with it. In 2-3yrs the public transport will see lot of movement to EV as petrol is very expensive.

Yeah the data says only 50% of Kenyans are connected to the grid and the remaining 50% are in darkness. 20% of those in darkness use torchlights as a source of lighting.

So your authorities decided to commit fraud by adding the 20% to the 50% connected to the grid as those with access to electricity

Well kenya is adding 1.2 million electricity customers - that is 5 million people annually
And gov is now doing final push to get to universal coverage.

This was last year->Kenya Power hits 9 million customers, adds over 600k in six Months

Broke Ghana continue crying

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/markets/market-news/kenya-tops-growth-connections-of-electricity-3464710

Kenya has been ranked as the top country in the world in reducing the population with no access to electricity, pointing to the impact of the State’s focus on rural areas for nearly a decade.

The Energy Progress Report for 2021, a product of a partnership between the World Bank and bodies such as the International Energy Agency, says Kenya’s electrification pace is now ahead of population growth.

Kenya’s annualised increase in electricity access between 2010 and 2019 was at 5.6 percent — the largest among the top 20 countries in the world with the biggest electricity access gap.

The increased pace of electrification, also supported by off-grid solutions such as solar, points to the fruits of the State’s last-mile connectivity programme, which was launched in 2014 mainly targeting rural areas.

Kenya’s growth dwarfed the world’s average growth of 0.8 percent, with the closest countries being Bangladesh (4.1 percent), Uganda (3.2 percent), Tanzania (2.5 percent), India (2.4 percent), Myanmar and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea with 2.2 percent each.

Idiots - what is signed are just empty committment - not money in bank - some of those are 5yr committments.

For example - IMF has commited to lend broke Ghana 3.5B dollars in 3yrs - but gave out just 600M dollars - in 1st tranches - next tranches will be 8 months with good behaviour.

You do realize not everyone fills out the Census, right?

Even then, when you said "50%" the only time that closely aligns with your argument was in 2016 when Kenyan access to electricity was 53% so nearly a decade old of data you were using for your argument. Thats pathetic. This reminds me of another argument when some dumb Americans tried arguing Ghana murder rate was higher than the US from some random website using UN crime and drugs statistics from 2007, almost 20 years ago lmfao.

Focus on Ghana - with only 4 million metered connection in a country of 7-8 Million household.

kenya has now 10 million plus metered electricity connection in a country of 12-13m household.

The last push to universal coverage will definitely happen in two years.

That would be first in Sub Saharan Africa.
