When they say for better for worse, they refer to challenges that life throws at the couple; childlessness, job loss, health challenges, issues from in-laws, special needs children etc.

Women and men are going through shege in Nigerian marriages, but the difference is, men are brazen about the shege they dish out. Women are hardly ever that brazen because they know the odds are not in their favour. I can't say the same for the sons of Nebuchadnezzar.

When a man sees shege, he is encouraged to get a divorce or side-chick for balance and he would most likely do that. With or without shege.

When a woman sees shege, she is encouraged to wear red pant and pray. This has never been a proven way to let out steam, so they become toxic and depressed with receding hairlines. Waiting for their kids to grow, then they go there to disturb the future daughter inlaw and the son who has failed to ask his mother why she is running from her own husband, would indulge her. Or maybe he knows why she is running. After all he saw it happen.

I guess you've not heard about Passport Bros. Give it 20 years from now, women around the world will start advocating for men to befriend/marry them for real more especially in Europe and America. This stupid idea that we don't need Men are trash. Men are at the receiving end of the whole thing if you check it very well. We all a social being and can't do without one another.
Men can be mean likewise women. And if your circle of friends keep having serious problems in their marriage, then I guess you should ask yourself some questions. The way we preach about divorce is just too bad. More than 70% of divorce are initiated by women. If that's the case, why bother yourself agreeing to marry a man and later on start complaining.
Truth is we are the cause of our problems. You hear people say I don't care about his/her past, I don't care about her/his body count. He's changed and all manner of excuses. That means you don't know much about your guy. You don't even know anything about his family. You don't ask questions, you don't care about his business so far he's ready to spend on you. We only care about love and fantasies but forget that marriage is a lot of work.
Same thing apply to guys as well. I wanna have the hottest chick and all that. Being a wife is different from being a girlfriend likewise husband and boyfriend. Don't rush into marriage because you want to escape poverty or impress people or maybe escape from being single. What you see on social media is different from the actual reality.
