Good evening all,
Please I want to know the average time(number of months) to change transmission fluid for a Toyota Camry 2007.

P.S: I use Type T-IV AT fluid

Your transmission requires type WS. I advise folks to change ATF every 30k miles or 2 years

Re: Automatic Transmission And Gear Repairs In Nigeria by kingbodex: 9:43am On May 25, 2023
Hello great minds. I need your help.
I use Honda Accord 2003, 4 plugs. The gear has shifting issues. I bought it like that unknowingly - (my mechanic of 8 years deceptively convinced me it's OK). At first start in the morning, the gear engages well in D, but as soon as I get to slow down (maybe at a bump), it disengages, and I have to put it in 2 or 1 to accelerate, then put it in D (while in motion) before it engages again. When I get to slow down again, it disengages. This cycle happens daily. And it makes the engine get overworked.
Note: I gave a gear repairer who worked on it, but the problem resurfaced just the next day I took the car from him.
I took it to another gear mechanic, he said my gear is still good that he can repair it, but I'm quite skeptical, so I won't waste another money.
I need your advice pls.

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. As desirable as that option is, it is not quickly obtainable due to funding. Hmm... It shall be well sha.

You need to know what type of transmission is in the car first. Is it the manual 5 speed, Automatic 4 speed or CVT transmissions?

@autowiz

Hello, please I have had vibration issues with the car (Camry 2010 V6 SE) upon acceleration and braking which I suspected to be suspension. For some weird reason, the mechanic suggested a shaft change and that was done since brake pad and disc replacement didn't solve the issue. Noticed gear slipping today and car won't go into reverse.

Is there hope for the car or is this a done case with my transmission?

One of the major cause of transmission problem is shaft change. The gear has been contaminated with sand, dirty black mechanic hand or top up transmission with wrong fluid.

Good day peeps

I need quick intervention on my Honda civic 2009 Gearbox issues
I experience heavy jerk when shifting from Park or Neutral into Drive or reverse, it delays a little before jerking heavily.
But runs smoothly when moving.
I have changed the 2 solenoids, change the oil still the same, my mechanic suggest changing the Gearbox but am not convinced my Gearbox is totally bad just like that, I think it's a solvable problem. Kindly help in this regards if you have ever experienced such and solved it.

I use a Nissan primera saloon 2005 model, it's automatic and uses CVT transmission. I discovered vehicle drags after driving for 30 minutes or at most 1 hour steady drive, expecially when I slow down a bit . The vehicle has to cool down for another 1 hour before it will move normally. I have changed the gear box oil , but the issue persist. please is there any one here with a real solution to this issue?

You need to find a way to make the mechanic pay for the replacement transmission

@kashif and @Dozieson Good job sirs.

Please I need help with my 08 Elantra. Its been parked for a long time but I intend fixing it now. While driving, it doesn't move into next gear when the gas pedal is stepped on. Rather engine only revs higher then it takes some time before gear eventually engages. Reverse works perfectly. It was scanned and the flowing codes came up:

P0700 - Transmission control system (MIL requested)
P0011 - "A" Camshaft position - Timing over advanced or system performance
P0501 - Vehicle speed sensor "A" range performance
P0625 - Generator Field/F Terminal circuit Low.

Please help, thanks.

Fix all those codes first and see how your transmission issue would resolve
