The questions now are:

1. Do you know the so-called "angels" you are using for ESCROW to their houses, offices, families, etc.?
2. Are they officially registered and known for ESCROW in Nigeria?
3. In case the transaction you use them as ESCROW becomes police, efcc, etc. matter, are they willingly ready to put mouth?

As someone earlier said here, it is not a must a seller or buyer agrees to use any of the "angels" recommended for ESCROW here in as much there is or are better ways of securely completing transactions.

Lmaoooo... Trying to sow discord and doubt.

Madam... There is NO such thing as a complete full proof system. Definitely, there are things escrow can't forsee and times where these scammer play very mad moves.
But that does not mean people should not use escrow, just because escrow isn't 100% safe doesn't mean we should stop using it and start sending money to person wey I no know. Nobody gives a flying Bleep about where you work at, if you like make you dey work for PayPal, I will still use escrow and advise everyone to.

Please and please, everyone ensure you use escrows for any transaction... When in doubt, use escrow. Do not fall for their scam. I have been in nairaland for over 5 years, the only time I ever got scammed was for 3k wey i no use escrow.

The popular escrows here are recommended based on their consistency and honesty. Trust me, if escrow Wan run with money, no be your $200 abi $1k PayPal fit tempt em. These guys deal with millions daily and dem never run, so no dey try discredit the good they have done.
Wese90 & braindee, I trust em with everything and I WILL always tell everybody to USE an escrow.
If your partner like, make e compose essay on why make you no use escrow, that one concern him papa. Be adamant and always use your escrow. It's not 100% full proof but it's being tested and trusted.

Just my piece.

Ma'am, leave long talk.
Escrow saves both buyers and sellers headaches of scam. See as person just scam someone 10k now, if they had used escrow, nobody will get scammed.

Stop justifying your unwillingness to use escrow, no be everybody dey Lagos, so they can't make it to your office for the face to face transaction, which in your write up, is a substitute for escrow services.

So far, no one has come out to say any of the escrows scammed them, or have you heard of such?
So whether they be angels or not, that's not the point.

The point is we are conducting successful transactions with escrows here!

She actually has a point with the escrow thing. In as much as escrow is advisable, you can't 100% trust escrow.

You were the lady that had an issue with one "trusted" trader here right?

He could have passed as an escrow for someone at a time.

The guys mentioned as escrows are verified and trusted (I know cos I use one of them), but even at that, I still see any transaction with a stranger online, be it with escrow or not as "risk".

It's just knowing which risk you prefer to go for.

The question is would you rather risk it with someone who's been fairly reliable or try direct trades with people on a thread with weekly incidence of scams?
Mind you, I know the company she's representing and I know they're fairly reliable. But this thread has peculiarities that one should always consider to avoid encouraging risking money blindly.

READ carefully between the lines and REASON!!!

@ Samsard

If you have been a long time nairalander, you should know several nairalanders who were so much trusted with money that eventually ran away with so much money without any trace. Some of them might not willingly want to do that but situations they didn't expect might have caused it.

I'm not saying those so-called angels you are currently using as ESCROW will run away but want you people to think wide and put in measures.

In addition, hope the so-called angels are aware of naira paid being charged back; they should put in more efforts and measures to prevent such from happening or how to swiftly resolve such if it happens.
onlinediva:

More reasons so-called angels used as ESCROW should be well known beyond online and their measures, checks, etc. to prevent or resolve issues should be known. It is not only PayPal funds that are being charged back; naira paid for cryptocurrencies and even digital currencies are being charged back. So therefore, any ESCROW can land into serious debts or issues at any time without prior notice.

In conclusion, know those so-called angels used as ESCROW beyond online and their measures. ESCROW is beyond just collecting and releasing money.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't tell you people to stop using escrow but put checks on it plus escrow is not the only way.

As a matter of fact, going to office for one on one transaction or trading with a highly trusted exchange company via their verified website or whatsapp is far better than the kind of escrow being run here.

My boss, Legalwealth who owns IJAM Exchange Limited with a physical office in Lagos since 2014 is a highly reputable person on nairaland for more than 10 years. Lawfully written or binded guarantee or otherwise?

If story enters any transaction without any lawfully written or binded guarantee, it is then you will understand what you are in.

Yes, I said they are verified and trusted and I also mentioned, even using them I am also taking a risk, cos I can never trust anyone 100%.

But I prefer to take risk using them than sending my money to someone I have not done transaction with.

It just depends on how less of a risk you wish to take.

Alright o! All these talks is emanating from someone trying to justify their reasons for not wanting to use an escrow.

Honestly, I don't see the need for all these.
Encourage people to use escrows to avoid them losing their money and if you refuse to accept escrow for whatever reason, you don't need to bring it here and making it look like the other party doesn't know what they're doing.

Everyone knows what's best for them.
If you don't want escrow, its ok.
If you want escrow, please insist.

I rest my case. Ire o!

I like the way you ended this statement....."Choose your risk wisely".....

A Nairalander who has been here for 4 months (longer than me), reached out to me to receive Aud from a freelance site for him via my wise account.

And he said, he has no wise account. It was 30Aud. I received it for him and paid him in naira.

SO THE POINT......

Lol!!!

I'm working for him and I still direct people to his verified company's website, office and Whatsapp line which I do post here. It is the same Whatsapp number 08091833866 you used to trade with him that I have been and will keep posting.

So therefore, you are not dealing with me but with him and his company if you want to. If you don't want to, continue using your escrow with the risks involved.
