Hi guys please I have an enquiry to make ; I was refused a student visa (Master’s) on 13 January 2023 on the bases that I didn’t provide enough evidence of my relationship with my sponsor also that I may not have access to the money in the account of my sponsor . NB : (brother-in-law is my sponsor) .
I addressed the problem and reapplied again on the 2nd March 2023 with the same sponsor . I received again another refusal on 23rd May 2023 on the basis that the economic situation in my home country outweighs that in Australia therefore they’re not convinced that I’ll return after my study , now Torrens University has canceled my CoE and asked me to apply for withdrawal and refund which I have done . So someone is advising that I apply for admission to a LV1 school (UNSW) and use my dad as my sponsor , get their COE and reapply maybe I could stand a chance of getting a visa , please guys I need your suggestions on this matter .

Did you not write a strong statement of purpose? that shows you have strong ties to nIgeria and will be coming back after Masters?

I have two questions for you. Then i might be able to advice and provide recommendation.

1. What did you provide as evidence of relationship?
2. What evidence did you provide as home ties?

His situation is beyond a strong SOP. Let him list the evidence he provided and it will become clear why he was refused.

I received an email form my school congratulating me that I am now officially a student of the school. Telling me what I am likely to experience studying on campus, adding me to one of the campus communities. But I am yet to get feedback from embassy, my application is on the 8th week now (biometry and Medicals was 12th of April), and my start date is early July.
Plz house does the email has any significance to my visa application?

You should hear from them before the start of your school. They usually process the ones closer to their school start date faster.

please I need answer to my question.

I will be entering AU first week if December 2023.

My international passport will expire in July 2024 and those of my 2 children will expire September same year.

Is it wise that I renew my passport now or wait and do that in AU? Which is better in terms of cost and stress?

thanks for the response..my wife is already doing her course in Australia. She has been in Australia for about a year + or 2years now. She got to Australia with a visa for masters in global bla bla which was not a good course and also not a PR course, she had to switch to Torrens university this year to study bsch in community service. Her initial visa expired in March this year and she was given a bridging visa but she applied for a new visa while in Australia with my name as dependent, God so kind they approved the visas for both of us..

For the first conditions, this means I can work unlimitedly right when I go and meet her?

For the 2nd condition, it means I can't school using dependent?

That is correct!

What you can study is a personalised question. A little research online will do justice to that.

If your wife includes you in her PR application then you get it if granted.

You might want to check the PR thread for PR criteria related questions.

there are alot to study in 3 months.

You can do a certification in project management, Data analyst, health care etc.

wat was the reason for the refusal?
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by penitential(m): 9:56am On May 26, 2023
My advice to you will be.

1. Be calm and not be in a rush to apply. Even from this post, it’s obvious and shows desperation that you’re so much eager to leave the country.

2. It’s not about LV1 school this time around, Torrens is also a LV1 school.

3. I will say you should not dent your image with those schools, as Torrens withdrawing their CoE from you is not something cool. The schools are skeptical about their image with the immigration.

4. I will advise if you can try some other countries (Sweden, Switzerland, Germany…). If you will want to still try Australia, I will advise you give some space of time , like say 1-year of 1.5year.

5. Try and change sponsor to someone that’s more closer to you, and not an in-law.

6. Also, try to show a reasonable level of financial stability by yourself with verifiable evidences to proof (a good pay slip from a reputable company, a minimal source of personal income- business, contracts… and show some personal properties as ties in your name.

Everything mentioned in point 6, will take some time to achieve. I will advice you take your time to achieve those and not rush thing to avoid showing desperation to the embassy.

Lastly, know very well that the visa officers are psychologically well-trained and the can sometimes see true intentions from an applicant informations.

May GOD help you.

How much did that cost you?
90k or thereabouts. I just sent her my previous passport data page, she told me to come to capture in Abuja in a specific date in 2weeks time, and you must not miss it... Went to abuja and captured, got my passport before leaving Abuja in a week.

Lastly make sure your NIN number is active and can be seen on immigration website portal if not they can't do your passport. Most of our NIN ain't working, you will know when you want to do your passport, they will tell you that they can't see it on Immigration portal and the only way to fix it, you will be asked to go to NIN office and tell them to "DROP YOUR NIN FOR IMMIGRATION PURPOSE", most of them in that office don't know anything and they can't do anything, they will tell you it's only Abuja that can do it 😂. Well, I had to go to a glo office and told them what I was asked to do by immigration, the guy man in the office just smiled and asked me to pay, so I gave him like 4k, and he did it, he said in 24hrs time, your NIN will be visible in the immigration portal, na so I comot with the guy man number so that I can call to always remind him. After 24hrs, the immigration lady confirmed that it's now visible in their portal and they took it from there. The information in the NIN must tally with your passport.. If you observe the new passport have NIN on it..
