🤣🤣🤣🤣 Some jokes do tell themselves . A government's basic functions are providing leadership, maintaining order, providing public services, providing national security ,providing economic security, and providing economic assistance. SECURITY ! That’s one major area buhari has failed and we are bringing it to the fore. Someone who is trying to defend buhari on that comes here telling us about purchase of military hardware. Then he proceeds to state the obvious that military is not the same as security . Yet he says we are the one with low iQ. Why would a person with high iQ bore us with stories of military spendings that has not reduced our security challenges but instead things have gotten worse on a broader scale ? Make it make sense na! 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Now there's one place I will give Buhari credit. You know me I'm objective to a fault. Buhari paid pensioners. This was my biggest grouse with GEJ. He basically sat on their money and allowed these people to die while Yaradua in his 3 years paid, GEJ sat 5 years and allowed these people suffer. Till Buhari came and gave them at least some of their money. GEJ didn't pay a cent 6 Likes 1 Share |

liveLongNprospa: What are you even saying exactly? How many country actually develop without a solid road infrastructure? How many roads in the world actually pay back the money that was used to construct it? Or maybe we should just toll any roads that's being constructed so they can pay back the money used to construct it. This kind arguments makes no sense. 5 Likes 1 Share |

liveLongNprospa: That’s because you are arguing from a wrong premise. The country was not safer under Jonathan, maybe because the insecurity was much more confined to the north east then, our country was fragmented under Jonathan!!! The Gulf of Guinea was known as the Piracy hotbed in the world!!! Can you understand the scale of that!! Nigeria Exclusive Economic Zone was the most insecure zone in the world!!! More insecure than the Gulf of Aden and the Somalia sea. Under Jonathan. And under Buhari, there was no piracy attack at all in 2021and 2022, that has never happened before in Nigeria History!! insecurity’s is a dynamic challenge not static, there will always be kidnapping, kidnapping has been in existence since Nigeria independence and it will continue to be till Nigeria get back seize to exist, it’s the scale that should concern you. http://www.globalresearchjournals.org/fullarticles/51404cb04bdbb.pdf?view=inline 2 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Security is not static. Insecurity is always ever changing with new dynamics. What Buhari met when he came was a country that Boko Haram as almost on its knee with some LG in control of these terrorist. That is no more. Now the insecurity challenges has taken new dimensions with killers herdsman, kidnappers and bandits going on a spree leaving the security forces almost helpless. Did Buhari handled the boko haram crisis better than he met it? Yes. Did he handle the crisis that ballooned during his tenure? No. And buying military hardwares are actually important, if most of Buhari predecessors actually invested in the military as much as Buhari did, our capacity to confront these multiple threats would've been mightily increased. A military that was defunded cannot respond to multiple threats in different fonts. Overall on security, Buhari did his best, reduced the hold of boko haram on the country but failed to nip rampaging fulani herdsman and bandit in the bud but with his military hardware acquisitions, hopefully PBAT will be able to tackle these security challenges and those that spring up during his tenure. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:37pm On May 27, 2023 |
larride: You've not said anything that has not been said here since morning. He nipped Boko haram in the bud but several other insecurity challenges came up and he was unable to tackle them successfully. He failed at one of the functions of government. Simple! It's a good thing to be hopeful Tinubu will do better because that is what is in the best interest of us all as Nigerians. 1 Like |

liveLongNprospa: What you are referencing is the chicken and egg situation. Which comes first? Deploy infrastructure so there can be development or wait for development and then deploy infrastructure? There isn't a clear answer. What Buhari should have done is fix key roads or construct alternatives. An example of a road that should have been fixed or supported with alternative route is lokoja Abuja expressway. That is a key road and it has been shit for as long as anyone can remember. Buhari did fix lagos Ibadan expressway, but it seems we are still not done after 8 years. Some of these roads being called - I have never heard of them before and I do not know what if any impact they will have on the economy. |

Eunoiaa: You do realise that Nigeria does not have a debt problem right? Our debt to GDP ratio is just 40%. That’s one of the lowest compared to other low middle income countries and developed economies. What we have is a revenue problem, anything that will stimulate growth should be welcomed |

BlueRayDick: I am not sure the man has nipped anything in the bud. To this day the notorious sambisa forest has not been carpet bombed and is still a haven for bh. BAT will have a big fight on his hands because part of the issue imho is latent sympathy to the ultimate intentions of boko haram. |

BlueRayDick: So hypothetical Tinubu reduces herdsmen but yahoo boys ritualist become more prominent so we say Tinubu has not achieved anything Just like in US, Al qaeda terror is reduced but homegrown lone shooters increase So we can say America has been failing security |

What value is that railway to Niger? Was it eventually done? Niger is a landlocked country, so it is not as if goods would be moved to a Niger port. Maybe someone can tell us the strategic plan here. Because I simply cannot see it. |

iamoyindamola: All businesses run on debt. But debt to build refinery is different from debt to float wayo airline. Or debt for improperly planned infrastructure. With all the road kidnaps it was inevitable that bandits would start targetting rail. Yet there was NEVER any plan from day one for a clear and present risk. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:55pm On May 27, 2023 |
GloriousGbola: U know we just have to rely on what is reported in the media and can’t be making conjectures . So let’s just agree Boko Haram has been neutralized cos we don’t hear them seizing military barracks and bombing villages . Was Buhari elected to just to reduce Boko Haram attacks and look away while other security challenges ravage the whole nation |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 4:56pm On May 27, 2023 |
Shaytun: What is the benefit of the loans he took to construct these roads? What is the economic value for that decision when we are wallowing in crazy debt? You think governing a nation is scatter gun approach? You have not done anything about revenue that we can see but you just dey borrow dey build road while still making it hard for people to ply those same roads due to insecurity and rise in transportation prices. So again... What is the value? Is that hard to understand? |
