Update Fellow switchers who missed Lloyds 200£ switching bonus in February. Lloyds is back with 150£ switching bonus to the club Lloyds silver or platinum account. Once switched, you can degrade to the normal club Lloyds before you are debited for the monthly subscription. Note: Only available for account holders with different banks unlike the last one that was also open to existing Lloyds Bank account holders. 2 Likes |

For which one? Platinum or silver. Normal club Lloyds is 3£ but if you pay in 2k monthly, you don't pay any sub rinzylee: |

mayo47: The principle is same irrespective of narrative. The higher one rises in a chosen field the more apparent it becomes to that person (if they're honest) that their success is not simply down to brilliance or hardwork. This hold true for any field or profession. WB did say the two main reasons he's amassed billions are firstly cos he was born in America and secondly, he was born at the time he was. 1 Like |

Elders and dependants especially male I need your advice please. I'm a dependant who is also working in uk. I appreciate my wife cos she spent over 70% of the funds we used while coming to uk and also took care of home for 2 months before i got a job. I was lucky to get a good job in Manchester 2 months after I got to uk which is a midlevel role in my career path as a systems engineer. My wife has refused to do anything at home cos she claims she wants to rest and I should be grateful that she brought me here. This is leading to serious arguments cos after paying rent, bills and food I'm left with almost nothing infact I had to borrow in the last 2 months because I bought some home appliances in our newly rented apartment. Right now, I'm so confused because it's more like I am just working to spend and her money belongs to her strictly and she means it. I am careful cos I'm bound to her visa and I am even begging her to take just bills but she refused. This has been on for over 7 months and i can not boast of 2k savings even with 49k salary. How do I manage this? Just confused tbh cos she's also working full time even grossing more than i 3 Likes |

Una still de f@ck abi una stop? 1. Have you asked her how she came about the 70% she spent to send you guys here? 2. When you said she wants to rest and not doing anything at home do you mean she's working but refuses to foot any bill at home? I think you just have to bear, cut down some expenses so you don't need to borrow and keep at it till you get a better paying job. Godaloneisable: |

Godaloneisable: Sounds like there's a communication gap. Not sure what's happening but it just seems incongruous that your wife and the mother of your children will just insist that you exhaust your income month after month. What is she doing with hers? Is she using it to repay the money for your relocation or what? Is she saving it somewhere different from your own savings? Looks like you both need to get on the same page. In any case, Does your workplace sponsor visas? Try to explore if they can do that. If you're earning ±50k you're providing enough value and it should be something you can broach strategically. Get them to be willing to sponsor you. Endure in the meantime and get on your own visa as soon as you can. The right course of action will be clear then once you're not at her mercy. 1 Like |

Yea so you need to find out if she's repaid the loan back and any project she may be involved in so you can both put heads together. Also let her know that it is important for her to be paying some bills so she's visible financially in the UK ...credit history etc which is important if you guys plan on staying long term. Keep trying for a higher paying job ...at least you now have your legs in the system, with your current experience, you will definitely get something better. That first question shaaa ...you nor answer, but that's where issues like this start from. Godaloneisable: 1 Like |

Godaloneisable: Both of you need to sit down and sort out your finances. This is not Africa where men are made to foot all the household bills while the woman packs hers away. The only way to survive here is team work, you must both be on the same page. If she’s working and earning, then she also needs to contribute towards the bills irrespective of whether she brought you here or not as that is irrelevant. You are supposed to be a team.. If there’s an outstanding loan that needs to be paid, let her tell you how much it is and both of you can work out a monthly income and expenditure budget that would include paying off the loan. |

Godaloneisable: One of the main causes of DIVORCE in the UK, is due to financial greediness........ You need to have a tètè a tètè with her ....... Write out all the bills on a piece of paper and start allocating........ With regards the 70% she spent on relocation, if you have to work out a plan to refund, best way forward (or that would be held as a leverage/bargaining tool, over your head forever)........ A couple CANNOT reside in the UK, and one part of that couple decides all financial dealings, would only be the sole responsibility of only one couple…...... This is a simple recipe for heavy debt, cardiac events, stroke, untimely death, depression etc etc etc ......😜🤣 13 Likes |

eniola1010: Your choice...... But if you pass in an automatic vehicle....... You can only automatically drive, automatic vehicles in the UK .......🤣😜 Attempting to drive a manual vehicle, is illegal and is deemed as you not having a driving licence......... |
