You want dey speak English to people wey there lives depend on fuel

Infact what is Nigeria without affordable fuel

We can survive with corruption and many other vices...Removing what the average man enjoys as a Nigerian is death to him/her in disguise

Lmao... Guy I nor even realize say people dey wey nor understand say the removal of subsidy meant An increase in fuel price
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 3:06pm On May 29, 2023
We commend the decision of the outgoing administration in phasing out the petrol subsidy regime which has increasingly favoured the rich more than the poor. Subsidy can no longer justify its ever-increasing costs in the wake of drying resources. We shall instead re-channel the funds into better investment in public infrastructure, education, health care and jobs that will materially improve the lives of millions..."

Michael Essien has followed up with another one

https://twitter.com/me_uko/status/1663158787790757890?t=hDoYVpzjViVOL893Q-Fn9Q&s=19

His tweets are really making sense. He is a true Nigerian unlike some folks we also have in the opposition camp.

Everyone of them promised to remove subsidy but here we are making it seems like its a wrong decision.

Some pages back, most folks here even said Dangote Refinery wouldn't affect the price of fuel significantly when subsidy is removed, so why the fuss now?!

Nigeria is losing billions of dollars to a sham called subsidy. Delaying it won't help in any way, no other option but to let it go.

My focus is on first 100 days, what are the plans and policies in place to ensuring masses don't suffer consequences of the decision, and how positively its gonna affect the economy.

I know fews eating fat with fuel subsidy will not rest, but its time for BAT to show he is incharge and fully ready to clip their wings.

First step to fight corruption is removal of subsidy, that's the foundation - rest structures of corruption will collapse easily after.

Till June of?

It was obvious fuel subsidy was an APC thing, that's why when you guys were shouting that Buhari was laying bombs down for Tinubu it was laughable.

Tinubu reaffirming subsidy removal is good for optics.

I dont know exactly what you are grasping at really.

Both Tinubu and Buhari are in APC. Subsidy payment ends on June 30 2023 in the budget. There's no provision for subsidy past that date in the 2023 budget.

Didnt Peter Obi and Atiku also said they will remove fuel subsidy in during campaign?

Just ask should govt borrow money to fund subsidy going forward?

Nobody wants fuel for free cause we can afford it. 😁 But subsidy has to go....and the time is now.

I suggest everyone should be calm and hope for the best…
This is also an opportunity for Tinubu to prove he’s the mastermind behind the success enjoyed in Lagos and hopefully, replicate it on a federal level.

Tinubu should've just waited till June 30 to assess the best way to go with this subsidy removal, by then Dangote might don start operations sef.

Now these marketers will just increase price on old stock that they have collected subsidy payment on.

My point is BAT didn't remove subsidy, since the removal was already in the works. Your first post was you expressing mixed feelings about him removing fuel subsidy and I replied saying it wasn't him removing it per se, just reaffirming what was already in the works, and in the process correcting the notion that Buhari was laying bombs for Tinubu with the subsidy removal thing.

Oh yes I know that. Remember we had thg is discussion before that I said Buhari shouldn't have announced June 30 as the end of the subsidy payment and allowed Tinubu to make the decision to end the payment by himself.

I do know the process started from Buhari.
