This is height of ignorance on you all that wrote the negatives against a sound and profound English used by the president on what he met on ground. The mods have to ban those that spew hatred writings here, otherwise this forum has lost its value. Imagine the racists and tribalistic diatribes from the obidients and Igbos. 1 Like |

Ezeama400: Fuel subsidy was already removed months ago. In the 2023 National budget, Subsidy provision ends this June. So there would be a need for a supplementary budget immediately if Subsidy is to extend beyond June. This supplementary budget will have to be presented by a new Executive Government and passed by a new National assembly which doesn't even have a senate leader yet. Imagine the chaos at the end of June when everyone suddenly realises there's no subsidy for July. Pandemonium everywhere. So you see, it's best Tinubu says it now so that everyone gets to know what is going on. |

I'm not a pained Obidients, infact I wish Tinubu succeed or whosoever is leading us, because in his success lies our success. But someone needs to tell Boda Tinubu that he talks too much |

for good accounting records and transparency of intent, the management and true disbursement of the subsidy materials and money should be moved out of NNPC entirely. I therefore propose that 1. let a new organization, be created and invested with the oil subsidy materials and money money management. let NNPC pay, sell, send the raw crude oil to the new federal government agency vested with the management of the subsidy materials and money. the new agency should actually reside in the federal transport ministry that is responsible for the transportation and disbursement of the subsidy materials and money. 2. let NNPC NNPDC or whatever remain be entrusted with the management of crude oil production and development and marketing on behalf of the federal government. as at today, NNPC is now fully enmeshed in the subsidy and supply of pms and associated materials to the Nigerian market. this function alone is very huge for a country of two hundred million people on the road. there is no country in the world today that has only one company in charge of procurement, licencing, transportation of, distribution of, manufacturing of, marketing of petroleum motor spirit and associated products to up to two hundred million people. even China and India has multiple companies doing it for their different regions. the sole proprietary rights conferred on NNPC has turned the organization to a behemoth of corruption. the averagely educated people at the company management are doing their best but given the circumstances of their overlarge responsibilities and the staff required for this behemoth it is obviously impossible to run well talk less of delivering on its assignments. therefore, if it is impossible to stop the charade called subsidy management on petroleum products then these responsibilities of procurement of the subsidy materials and money should be moved out of NNPC ASAP for good accounting and records. our unborn children will not be happy with this generations of corruption infested Nigerian government. |

adioolayi:Some of you are unbelievable. Trying to pass the buck as a president is one of the first signs of failure as a leader, and it is exactly that you are trying to do on behalf of the new president. If Tinubu does not have a 100% buy in on subsidy removal, he wouldn't have made executive declaration of its removal on his first day in office, especially when there is appropriation for subsidy payments till June ending. Again, what exactly is the narrative that he inherited it, it is a law and other attempts at hiding behind one finger? If president Tinubu wants subsidy payments to continue beyond June, he has the prerogative to send a supplementary money bill to the National Assembly for approval. The idea behind what you wrote, exactly just like others, is an attempt to shift the blame to the previous government in the future if Nigerians begin complaining about the effects of this government policy. The president of Nigeria is arguably among the most powerful presidents in the world because he can virtually do anything and not be held accountable so they have no good reason to fail, and to see ordinary citizens making lame excuses for their actions is difficult to read. |

Since you believe a man who was told to test his microphone, but rather licked it is better to be your president, you will suffer, mark it, you will suffer, and then you will remember this post.
