I think the way out of this unfair situation is to do the following: 1. Raise tax on fuel bound for Lagos and other SW states to bring it to equilibrium with others. 2. Ensure that all other ports are viable and give ships going there tax rebates. Many of those talking crap don't even understand the dangers of having such lopsided differentials in fuel price across Nigeria. There will be increased influx of people into Lagos and the adjoining states leading to instability. Already, Lagos and its environ control over 70% of Nigeria's economy, the figure will even jump to 90% if this discriminatory price differences is allowed. |

NapoleonHill: You are arrogantly daring Nigerians to do their worst? You are supporting Tinubu to corner billions of naira to the SW at the expense of other Nigerians? Don't worry, he exposed his hands too early. Maybe as the pharoah he is, God has sent Ahitophel to advise him so his end could come faster. |

proeast: What is wrong with you? Your bigotry and hatred have reduced your sense of reasoning. You deliberately refused to understand simple analogy because you have an agenda - to create another ethnic E-war. Who told you it was tinubu that introduced the new fuel price? Is he the md/ceo of nnpc? Imported fuel lands in lagos before its bn transported to other states, naturally it will be cheaper because the cost of transportation to other states is no longer involved. This is a simple stuff that your brain refused to assimilate because of bigotry. 2 Likes 1 Share |

proeast: Since the days of Abacha, Petrol has always be more expensive in Sokoto ,Yobe, Borno Adamawa than Lagos or Ogun State. Some Petroleum Marketers like A.A Rano lift Fuel from Niger Republic to sell in Kano ,Katsina and Jigawa States which are closer to Niger Republic than Lagos. |

When Marketers take 33,000 Litres of Petrol from Lagos or Rivers and travel over 700 km to reach Katsina over 72hrs, do you think these Marketers will sell this petrol at the same price as it's being sold in Lagos or Rivers? proeast: Bros, the Petrol being consumed in Nigeria are NOT from the Niger Delta but imported. Even that template is NOT going to work because pump prices are determined by different factors and pump prices are not always the same throughout the same State e.g the prices of Petrol in Akure are slightly different from the prices in Ilaje,Igbokoda or Araromi, yet all are in Ondo State. 2 Likes |

proeast: Minimum wages are different from States to States. With deregulation, Marketers can fix their own prices. ProEast can be buying Petrol from Dangote in Lagos at #255 per Litre and transportat the Petrol over 500 km in 48hrs to reach Okigwe or Ekwulobia and still be selling it at #255/Litre. 1 Like |

proeast:Maybe just maybe if you had created this your thread with point number two as a solution to the seemng lopsidedness in fuel prices and not just picking on the SW, you wouldn't come off as bigoted, arrogantly ignorant while receiving this needless lashing! Hey, we all can see through your "justice fighter" facade! Its simple: why would someone travel from Maiduguri to go to Alaba to buy electronics or spare parts? Its simply because it s cheaper compared to buying in shops in Maiduguri? Are Samsung electronics manufactured in Lagos? Nope! The farther that electronic has to travel the more expensive it gets! When the railways come fully on stream, i mean like the PH-Maiduguri, it will cut down on the cost in the long run! Not forgetting the refineries such as the BUA refineries that will join Dangote Refinery and greatly increase our refining capacity thereby reducing costs as market forces come in to play. |

soke02:the price of indomie is uniform across because they want to be fair to all Nigeria, who force nnpc to target the same make up across Nigeria example because they are making profit of 30 naira in sokoto, why should they not try to make profit of 100 naira in Lagos, saying that they are happy with only 30 naira because that what they make in sokoto 1 Like |

proeast: Stop crying fowl where there is none. You are actually the one who is being smart by half or chose not to be smart at all. Please educate us, tell us where 90% of the tank farms are located. This is what I hate about people who are not objective. You always deliberately ignore facts and appeal only to emotions. Fuel distribution as it is now is not from where it is "sourced" but from where it is "stored" 90% if not all the major tank farms are located in Lagos. That's a FACT. If you consider the logistics of moving it from Lagos to other parts of the country, it will cost less to move it to Southwest states than to move it to other regions. That's a FACT. Stop being unnecessarily emotional just like so many others like you on this thread, try and be FACTUAL when you want to criticize. |

Niwdog: What do you think is the correct logic? Please correct me. In a free market, if a marketer get petrol from the port and sell in Lagos for #500 because he dosen’t need too much transport out of state. Should the same marketer use like 1million for example to transport his tanker to like let’s say Owerri from Lagos and sell the same fuel for #500? If you’re the marketer, how will you do it? |
