Let's avoid chest beating and take one match at a time. Congrats to the young boys nonetheless. I hope they were able to enjoy their win (in front of a full house!). We are not at the summit yet so we continue to climb and work hard. Bring on RSK. 3 Likes |

Kog45: Yes I know. But what we do is sweep over all these issues in a wave of sentiment based bias and pretend these issues don't exist. And begin to declare our players as world class and the next best thing and call them generational talent. We have a Nigerian playing youth football ⚽ in inter Milan and we are claiming generational talent at 18 (and if you want to go further that age could be easily disputed) |

Kog45: Dont go there. Even U17 boys and girls would be held accountable for missing those chances. |

Kog45: 100% spot on. TheGoodJoe, in addition to this, modern day football has gone beyond ball possession and domination without end product. Today's game is all about efficiency. The team that created 4 chances and converted 2 is better than the team that created 12 chances and converted 0. Whether you are building for the long or short term, result is what matters. 8 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: This particular crop of boys are very poor. I saw them against Netherlands. Lack of talent is their major problem. I hope their coaches scout better ahead of the next U-17 tournament. 2 Likes |

Curtisaxel10:If care is not taken Nigeria football academies is going the way of NPFL cuz of fraudulent agents who preferred collecting monies from parents for easy access to Europe. My senior bro took some academy players to Italy recently and it was war to pick players due to coaches and parents relationships. The coaches are ready to sacrifice talented ones for mediocrity 7 Likes 1 Share |

M7even: In did not introduce the word generational talent somebody else did. I challenged that claim placed on a 18 year old youth player for inter Milan as grossly misguided. I am taking about Ebenezer Akinsanmiro. I made comparison with his peer group playing first team football ⚽ but not called generational talent. When asked how many games he has played for Inter Milan first team I got silence to date. |

TheGoodJoe: Who are you to tell boys not to be excited by the win. We beat Argie in their home especially after multiple heartbreaks from them yet we should be depressed because of possession stats?. It doesn't matter if we were outplayed or not. History only remembers the winner and in this case the better side won. Finito 9 Likes 1 Share |

kushercain: That was what was thought before but now it is a general fact that history remembers the dominant sides. In a long run, dominant play yields to growth of players and teams. Also, I am saying we should not mistake the win as a sign of strength. We should not get comfortable and know we still have lots of work and risk ahead. 1 Like |
