Show me where Romoss said to drain before charging.

It doesn't matter whatever you call it bro.

I guess everyone have their own luck be it good or bad when it comes to using gadgets from different brands. I bought a 30k mah Romoss power bank here on nairaland from a trusted seller and it gave up in less than 3 months. I decided to try Oraimo and so far it's been a year and it's still going strong though I've noticed a little swelling on one side. Maybe I was just unlucky with the Romoss and luck found me with the oraimo.

Lolz! Luck it is... perhaps.

I couldn't agree more. When it comes to gadgets, sometimes, one can just be "unlucky" to get a unit with factory defects

However, it becomes alarming when the chances of picking a defective unit increases with a particular brand.

Provide proof for your (false) assertion.

Romoss never told anyone to discharge before use. Unless you can claim to read Mandarin.

I am asking you to provide your proof. Don't refer me to YouTube. You clearly stated that "Romoss said...". You didn't say that YouTube said.

I have the manual here and I have had it translated via Google Translate. There's no such thing written on it. Unlike you, I can provide proof for my statements. Romoss said no such thing. Don't dodge out, either you provide proof or retract that very misleading statement of yours.

it is difficult for you to understand that I don't have it handy. I used romoss long time ago and it has that instruction to drain first... I use remax now so if yours says otherwise then good for you. ๐Ÿคท

Then don't mislead people because that's what you're clearly doing. I didn't buy my Romoss yesterday but I still have the manual and packaging. I have had my Romoss Sense 8+ since 2019 and now where, does it say to discharge.

In fact powerbank makers advice strongly against discharging. This shows that you were lying when you referred me to the manual and shows that you probably aren't sure of what you're talking about.

If you don't have proof for something then don't mislead other people who may not know what to do.

To anyone else reading this, avoid completely discharging your power bank if you want it to last. A word is enough for the wise.

It's in the manual/ box that came with mine.
I use the 40000mah 65w
But technology has advanced lithium batteries don't need to be discharged

Thank you very much bro. This is how things are done.

However would you advice someone to do this today based on the recent information that you now have?

The only reason why you may be asked to drain and recharge is for the purpose of battery recalibration and resetting of the battery counter. If a power bank is working fine, then there's absolutely no reason to drain.

This man, why are confusing yourself now?

Now you're saying manual can ask to discharge for calibration?

The point the other poster(s) are making is about whether to charge to 100% first time after purchase or drain before charging up.

The point is: whether you charge to 100 for first time or not, it does not change a thing about the battery itself.

Some powerbanks truly said to drain first before first time recharge.

You're just arguing baselessly.

Lithium polymer batteries don't need to be charged 100% first time. If you do, no problem, if you didn't no problem.

Calibration does not happen via 1 time cycle. It happens over multiple cycles of charge-discharge (maybe three cycles for some)

Don't be daft

I asked for proof. He provided it. Simple as that.

Where did I say anything about manual asking for discharge. He made a claim, I asked for proof. He provided it. Discussion over.

However he also said this which is my point.

Do not discharge your powerbank unless you're recalibrating. Simple thing. What is now your issue?

Rather than them say them say, the information that you need is often there but the average Nigerian prefers them say, he said, she said.

You're really not intelligent enough to avoid insult.

The guy wizyoung claimed that it was stated and you called it a 'misleading false assertion ' without doing your homework
You try to sound technologically woke but ended up wallowing in your own ignorance.

I have nothing more to say to you because apparently you consider yourself an Island.
Take care.

You really have a problem if you had read my first reply to you as an insult. Calm down and read again then show proof that I "started it" All these your rant is just in futility. You're like a man trying so hard to save his face from the effect of ignorance. Consider this my last quote to you on this matter.
