Any govt who removes Subsidy deserves a 3rd term cos that is a ballsy move

Every candidate promises to remove it but the moment they are sworn in they develop amnesia

But a post subsidy Nigeria I dunno what it will look like sha

Tinubu deserves this applause from me cos I never believed any Nigerian president will really remove subsidy

Since the night of Thursday June 1, access to social networks Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Youtube has been restricted in Dakar, Senegal and in several other cities in the country. In the afternoon, the populations were already encountering some difficulties in communicating easily on these platforms. Some consumers have believed in problems of Internet quality of service from telecom operators. But in the end it is nothing. NetBlocks, an internet governance watchdog organization, confirmed the social media blocking on its Twitter account.

We have got some nodular refineries who can produce some reasonable amount of fuel.....encourage them by legalising it....

Currently, no modular refinery in Nigeria has the capacity to refine PMS.

On the modular refineries, most of us make assumptions and mistakes. Modular refineries as it is today in Nigeria, cannot produce PMS. In fact, I was listening to somebody few days ago on the radio; he was saying government should license more modular refineries in the Niger-Delta for them to refine PMS. Modular refineries cannot produce PMS.

The best they can produce is AGO (diesel). When you take your crude oil, put your crude oil in a bowl and heat it up, after sufficient heating, what you will get is close to AGO. For you to produce PMS, you need a refinery of about 50,000-barrel capacity because there is what is known as fluid catalytic cracker. There is no manufacturer in the world that will manufacture a fluid catalytic cracker for 5,000 barrels. Most of these modular refineries produce about 5,000 barrels per day like the water Smith for example, like the one they are building in Edo State that is about 5,000 barrels per day. They don’t have a capacity to produce PMS. Abroad, they produce AGO. So even if we have multiplicity modular refineries, they cannot produce PMS because they don’t have the requisite unit to do so. For you to produce PMS, you need a capacity of close to if not more than 50,000 barrels per day.

The Edo State government-backed Edo Modular Refinery has begun production at its 6,000bpd plant in Ologbo, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.

The facility with its feedstock can produce 50 per cent of diesel (500,000 litres), 25 percent of naphtha (300,000 litres) and 20 per cent of Low Pour Fuel Oil (LPFO) (200,000) litres.

Hmm I don't know if it's a case of boldness or more like he had no choice. Anyway it's like everybody is coming to terms that subsidy has been removed even labour that won't have wasted time to use it to garner political clout are taking it in their stride.

Let's see how the next few weeks and months unfold.

I heard they are experiencing their own soro soke protest after the main opposition leader Sonko was jailed.

I'm sure some mumu here will be happy reading this. One of them was celebrating the extremely high cost of fuel some days ago when millions of Nigerians are suffering because of the high inflation the subsidy removal is causing.

The next thing would be to remove the subsidy on electricity so that Nigeria can be like the UK overnight. Remove all the subsidies and increase the taxes after all the government is already doing too much for the citizens.

How does this statement from the NNPC boss even make any sense?

“There is a notion that if the product is processed locally, prices will reduce. Let me make it clear that it is not going to change anything. If you produce locally, the refineries will also input the cost of production and other things and it will be sold at the current price."

He said fuel prices will remain the same even when some local refineries become operational. So, there will be no effect whatsoever of refining crude oil locally?

It's clear that these people don't mean well for the masses.

A001:

You're right. I just resumed the interview now. This is poor journalism from Punch. They're politicizing this germane issue.

U are probably mistaking Ajaero for Wabba. I can’t recall Ajaero declaring any strike since February this year when he succeeded Wabba.

Lmaooooo again what is the purpose of this strike?
Are we asking government to immediately cut spending and also sell off their excess cars.
Are we asking tinubu to put up for sale some of the planes in the presidential fleet? Or sell off alot of things and also reduce his salary.

What exactly is NLC asking for?
