OasisX: This is a very insensitive thing to say, as a human being My prayer is that God Almighty will not put you in a position where you will have to suffer as Nigerians are suffering now. And before you type any long explanation, i support the removal. I have always said it here before now. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Segedinho: That has to be the height of insensitivity, just because you want to win an argument I support the removal. Even before now, I wanted it removed. But I would never say the government should not provide palliatives to cushion the effect. What kind of statement is that? Because one can afford it doesn't mean millions of Nigerians can I started leaving home around 9am this week, and i see students trekking distances at that time, just because the 200 naira transport is no longer 200 again. Palliative is fcking to you because you dey Dubai ba? 3 Likes |

izzou:It isn't about humanity anymore but politics where APC is always right and any other criticism should go fvck themselves. Fuel presently is the most useful commodity in everything we do in Nigeria...one would expect the FG to be very sensitive in dealing with it....... Removal of subsidy is good but must not be hurriedly removed without proper plan...........no security of food..no electricity....nothing just nothing. What does an average Nigerian who pays tax benefit from d damn country apart from subsidised fuel? |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:38pm On Jun 03, 2023 |
Segedinho: Nobody is out of place if they demand palliatives to cushion the effect. I support the removal, but then i try to be sympathetic to the plight of people. Because you can afford 600/litre and its effects does not mean millions can. How can you say Tinubu should not provide any pallative? Are you in everybody's pocket and household? I sincerely meant my prayer for him, because it is easier to be insensitive from a position of abundance. When Oshiomole told that woman to Go and die, it was easy to say it because he was a governor. If he was a Mai Ruwa or he was pushing wheelbarrow, he would not be insensitive |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OasisX: 4:50pm On Jun 03, 2023 |
izzou: .....seem you missed the part where I called for salary increment for civil servants? Palliatives seem to me another version of subsidy? Palliatives in what sense by the way? Subsidizing Transportation? I do not expect prices of Foodstuff to be affected because trucks run on diesel. It may sound insensitive but assuming I am not empathetic to plight of average Nigerians is wrong. Any form of subsidy should be crushed. We shouldn't move from one subsidy to another, that's the main reason I do not buy palliatives stuff. Palliatives will beget corruption as it was evident during EndSars. Thank you once again for the prayer, I do not doubt the sincerity. 1 Like |

OasisX: So everybody in the villages have trucks that run on diesel to transport their goods to the Market, where buyers use trucks to bring it it Lagos? The woman who buys it at Mile 12, will go and look for Diesel truck to carry it from there to the street where she sells the tomatoes? Listen to yourself, brah. And out of 200 million, how many are civil servants? So the rest should go and die because OasisX doesn't want any form of palliatives? I strongly believe you are abroad. You cannot be here, seeing the groanings of people, and come back here to type "fûcking palliatives" |

OasisX:How many public worker do we have in Nigeria?how much increment would really reflect the plight they would be passing thru as a result of the abrupt display of insensitivity? Does other private organisation free from paying tax...does a graduate who is making ends meet with bolt less of a Nigerian? Does the salonist, barber, welders and many other hustlers deserve so less due to no light? If food items are relegated to diesels..why are food items and other commodities flies high in the absence of fuel...? The poor people trekking deserved it since they are too inferior to pay for high transportation..... Anyway,it is as it is....This doesn't affects you and your famz doesn't give you d right tobl disparage others... |

OasisX:The only palliatives reasonable here is to stretch it till we are ready to remove the subsidy.. We are ready only when we see other things working or at full display.. Things like .. Reasonable electricity n cutting of unnecessary bonuses.... Truth in the amount of fuel we consume as a nation Block smugglers and be thorough about it. Let farmers believe they can work in their farm.... Give Dangote crude at discounted price while working on those things I highlighted Our lives depends on fuel here Nigeria...... |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 5:10pm On Jun 03, 2023 |
OasisX: The government can begin to give companies and industries some percentage of tax waivers, and that percentage must reflect in the salaries of their workers The government can subsidise major food items from the wholesaling phase, so that people will have some relief as the reality of no subsidy progresses. Even Power, they can give some tax waivers so that the consumers can see lesser charges of their bills. If i will pay 600 for petrol, I'll be glad to see that my NEPA bill isn't high, or i can now buy more units with my urgent 2k These can be done for 3 months, or even 6, depending on the nation's coffers. And probably there are other sectors they can help reduce the burden for a while |

izzou: .....I think PBAT shares same view as you on tax waivers. He said it many times during campaign and I strongly believe he is gonna work on it. On Foodstuff, he also has it in his manifesto, setting up commodity board, I guess they'll be responsible for price control via subsidy [though I hope not]. I agree with your submission on power as well. In a nutshell, what you are asking for is cushioning effects of subsidy removal through tax waivers at critical sectors, I agree with you 100%. 2 Likes |

Segedinho: I agree with rest of your points except removal of subsidy in phases. It has to go now to make other things work. We can't achieve Nigeria of our dream without removing it. |
