.....I think PBAT shares same view as you on tax waivers. He said it many times during campaign and I strongly believe he is gonna work on it.

On Foodstuff, he also has it in his manifesto, setting up commodity board, I guess they'll be responsible for price control via subsidy [though I hope not].

I agree with your your submission on power as well. In a nutshell, what you are asking for is cushioning effects of subsidy removal through tax waivers at critical sectors, I agree with you 100%.

Nigerians are suffering..

Even when i see people discuss about the removal, i do not contribute, because my view isnt theirs, but then i can relate.

There are people earning 20k a month...Yes, Twenty thousand naira for 30 days.

How is that person supposed to survive with the price of almost every commodity he needs, doubling or tripling?

I know you are at war with Obidients, but please, don't imagine life starts and ends with people on this thread.

Anything Tinubu can do from Monday sef is needed.

People are seriously suffering

I agree with rest of your points except removal of subsidy in phases. It has to go now to make other things work.

We can't achieve Nigeria of our dream without removing it.
But it head-scratching to remove subsidy when things are at it worst....and expect the masses to believe in your manifesto..

Batches removal or giving crudes to Dangote at a discounted price is ideal until the masses starts to believe in you....

Wait o... how much does crude fetches us yearly..cos I saw we produce 2.12m barrel per day.....Multiply dat by 365 days and Multiply it by d amount for 1 barrel....

Does that mean we will not exist to peradventure there was no crude??how does other country with no crude flourishes...

Nigeria is making $40B on crude oil sales and spending $12B on fuel subsidy from it annually.

Do the maths bruh.

Expenditure as high as that isn't feasible only when things are working.

What does an average Nigerian paying tax enjoys...

Be truthful bro,do you think d subsidy funds really reflects the amount of fuel we are consuming?

These folks called Buhari hero of Democracy ffs! They celebrated Buhari when Naira was damn scarce as well as fuel before Election.

They saw nothing wrong in it and appealing to rest of us that its for the greater good. They can bear the pains for Obi to emerge but can't bear it for Nigeria to succeed?!

Like I said b4....smuggling is a crime that reflects the corruption we all are against....

It is the duty of the FG to capture the true amount we are supposed to consume then juxtapose it with our expenditures to know if it is worth it or not.

Crude diversion/stolen is worse than subsidy....this must be treated b4 thinking of prosperity..

Diesel and kerosene ain't subsidised anymore but the outcome of it isnt felt cos the FG didn't face the real problem wch is Crude dieversion......

In summary, Subsidy is among the least things to worry about if we really want to progress..

That your palliative statement was wrong sha. There are temporary measures the government can institute to soften the blow on the masses.

I was in support of subsidy removal in principle but i wanted it to be a step taken by Tinubu after a year in office by which time he would have put in place measures to minimise the suffering, rather than this fait accompli he inherited from Buhari.

Also, there is this belief that Nigerians can tolerate anything, but the truth is all human beings have an elastic limit. If the government does not carry the people along chaos and anarchy might ensue.

The beating/ suffering is not good enough, that is why a child said/ swore it would not be well with the person that beat him. If the beating/ suffering is really good, the child will ask "Please, what did I do wrong"?

.....Ẹ̀gbọ́n! What are you saying for God's sake! Lets try to be realistic once in a while. Buhari shut borders, yet it has no effect on smugglings.

Nigeria borders are porous! From South, to West and North. How many personnel do we even have in Customs?

By the way, why FG is contracting Pipelines protection to Tompolo and co? Why not entrusting the job to navy alone?

We have talked about it several times, we need more bodies across all our security formations. Also we must change our mindsets, cutting corners to making money is seriously klling the country.

Nigeria is very complex and so hard to govern. Buhari even said its easier for him to control his cows than Nigerians.

Perhaps we should hire Trump to lead and build walls across our borders. Let's hope on palliatives to cushioning effects on the removal, because its not the least rather very major problem that must be tackled onces and for all.

All these born-again humanists sha. The ones that were hailing Naira scarcity and sharing emojis here when people were dying of hunger and minor illnesses were killing Nigerians have suddenly found religion and are now critical of subsidy removal.

You said something about smugglers...who is to blame for porous border?People are being paid to prevent illegal smuggling

If Nigeria is too complex to handle...who should resolve it the best he can...

When I say fuel diversion .I am not talking militancy bro but the corruption at its peak .....ships still come in for the purpose of moving crude that would definitely be unaccounted for....so who is to blame

Back to base...subsidy is the only thing the poor emnjoys despite the corruption playing around it wch can be nipped by a determined FG.....

If you cannot put things in place to some extent... You have no business removing it even in d midst of distrust in the heart of the masses u are presiding over...

We must see some reasonable changes b4 thinking of removing it a d not remove it at once, then think of solution later

Have you forgotten? Maybe because you are living in the abroad, so you don't remember. It happened not long ago.

That time that the little money that people had was locked away in banks and there was no money to buy food or medications. The time when people were scaling front fence to enter bank to beg for their own money while bank workers were scaling back fence to escape. The time that because people could not withdraw money from the bank they died before getting proper medical attention or were starving at home.

During that time this place was full of emojis, memes, gifs ati bee bee lo. I wonder what changed that struck such a chord in people's hearts that they are now so empathetic.

I wonder. I just wonder.
