My thoughts exactly, its a completely irresponsible and corrupt government that will rather put a whole country under high pressure, than investigate and prosecute those responsible for this monumental fraud. Its clear that many people are ABOVE THE LAW cry

Government should work on stable electricity and see if our fuel consumption will not drop by 70% .

We are still joking about development in Nigeria until we are able to sort out the electricity issue

Exactly why Peter Obi travelled to Egypt. After solving electricity problems in Nigeria, then he focuses on exportation.

NLC southwest, northern region and south south region have opted out of the so-called Ajaero strike. Na only IPOB and their labour party will go on strike in the southeast. Subsidy has gone and gone for good.
One would have thought, with the way you have been carrying on about Obi...
Tinubu would have made you his Chief Press Secretary?
And yet here you are, even after he is in power..
Still Wailing about Obi?😂

Many people who comment here don't even know the meaning, impact of subsidy. All they know is hike in price of fuel.

How can Nigeria be subsidising petrol even for our neighbouring African countries due to huge smuggling of the product.

With the removal of subsidy this smugglers will stop as the petrol is now sold at market price and not subsidised price.

We are mobilising to counter the NLC strike and I am sure this purported strike will create further disharmony amongst the NLC.

Many states won't join the strike and this will turn the NLC to mockery.

SUBSIDY IS GONE

NNPC should shut up. Why pretend as if you don't know that Nigeria never consumed the quantity you paid for as subsidy. "It is believed that many of the imported product is smuggled out of the country." Most are not smuggled out of Nigeria, they do not even arrive our Ports. The greatest fraud of all times is the subsidy fraud. NNPC leadership should be sack immediately.

They are hasty to say this because the consumption data that will come out shortly will reveal the trillions stolen in over invoicing and round tripping.

Criminal organisation.

It will reduce further because

1. People will travel less.

2. Some businesses will shutdown because of high cost of production.

3. Many homes will spend less time powering their homes with generators.
All these shutting down and less movement, will they not negatively impact the economy and make it to slump?

That's because they number in the hundreds of thousands.

It is not just big men, and big cabals. Thousands of nigerians steal from the subsidy every day.

Jailing them won't stop the stealing. New people would step into the rift. The way forward was to destroy the system by removing its basis. Subsidy

I still don't understand why it is so difficult to name those behind this subsidy scam and stealing.
What will happen if they name, shame and arrest them?
What exactly will happen?
They can't name them because the so-called cabal don't exist.
Business people have been cheating when given the opportunity from the beginning of time.
These marketers became some super intelligent creature controlling everything because the
government needed excuse to remove subsidy.

You people should stop peddling this propaganda. In the video where he said he would immediately remove subsidy he went on to clarify HOW.

He clearly said that the first thing he would do would be to address the inflated daily consumption figure that NNPC is claiming of 70million litres that subsidy is paid for and would ensure same is slashed immediately by 50%! He also talked about modular refining and things like that. Watch the full video and be educated.

When provision was made till June in the budget what was the rush to make the announcement on subsidy removal especially as Dangote fuel is supposed to hit markets in July? Why did he not rush to announce the palliative measures first and put them in place before removing the subsidy?

That's the difference between Obi and BAT. One is thinking of the HOW because he has the people at heart the other one is not thinking of the pains the people would go through.

I will give you another example of the role of government. Let's look at the FX problem in the country. Few months back, dollar was rapidly increasing against the Naira until it almost got to N1000 then government sent security agents to the streets to tackle the black market dealers, arresting many of them and getting them to disclose where they get their dollars from. Within a week dollar fell from almost N900 to N700 and has since then remained around 750.

When government is serious about tackling the oil smugglers no stone will be left unturned in driving them underground instead of subjecting the people to more suffering with over 60% under the poverty line and record unemployment rate.
yes daddy thank you daddy it's not a religion war but subsidy remover which Obi Pandora also promised to remove IMMEDIATELY in case he win but God Almighty never allow that grin

Lol. I only read the headline, didn't even bother to read the post because I know it's another junk of horseshit.

Increase in fuel price reduce petrol consumption by 30%, if we have 24/7 power supply, who would even want to use petrol.

I ask why didn't the government focus on improving our power supply, instead of showing us they don't even know what they're doing.
Improve power supply that Jonathan had sold your electricity infrastructure to quacks in 2013?

It's true. The guy Ajaero lost his relevant when he openly declared his support for Obi. He also lost it when they couldn't fight for the masses during the CBN new naira note scarcity thinking the policy will affect Jagaban at the poll.
