Allow more Nigerians that have the capacity to import, store and distribute the product effectively to do so and that is only when the true market forces can actually determine the right price unlike what we have presently where NNPC is the sole importer

No, he signed a law, called the PIA, that in essence provided for subsidy funding till the end of June.(it would have been much earlier, but Buhari rushed an amendment that extended it for several months.)

The reason why prices are going high is because marketers know that if they do not raise prices and make money now, they won't have enough money to buy new stock by July the first at the new higher price that would be in effect then.

That could lead to scarcity.

If they remove it in 25 days to come or 7 days ago, what difference does it make...
I think the FG is being fair to the marketers. It's simple, you bought goods for 10 naira today sold it and make 15 naira, you want to restock but now it's 23 naira. How are you going to buy new stock? don't you think will bring more hardship on Nigerians because oil marketer may need to source for loans with interest which will make the fuel even more costly.
They have a month window to make their money while the government go through the process of helping the masses is a very smart move.
You are mad it was not conceived and executed by your candidate and that's a shame

Don't be dumb. No marketer has ever used their money to import fuel.

All of them borrow from Bank n FG pays d bank interests.

1.Don't call me dumb.

2.Right now, the marketers have to import fuel since this time there is no subsidy...so they have to work for their money

Oloriburuku ni gbogbo yin Se.

Marketers borrow money from d bank to import fuel.

None of them used their own money even d major players.

The banks borrow them easily cos they know they will get it back with zero sweat.

Before u argue with your father, I interned at an agency responsible for setting fuel prices 10 years ago. I pretty sure I know more about petroleum pricing than your NNPC GMD
