Acidosis:people are just shouting they should increase salary as if people working under government are up to 40% compare to people working under private sectors. If they increase salaries of government workers, what will be d faith of people working for private sectors that don't have anybody to fight for them for minimum wages. I think government should also have an organization that will be monitoring these private company. Some of them are wicked and heartless to pay peanut salaries to their staff, and still over used them. Some of them will even owe them salaries and if u report to police, they may turn the case on u if they bribe the police. Nigeria needs total reform on private sectors also. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Of what use is subsidy removal when we know that few individuals will still loot the money? As far as am concerned, subsidy is the only thing the common man is benefiting from the government. Buhari increased the price of fuel he didn't use the money to do anything instead, he borrowed more money for looting. Make them leave our subsidy for us! 4 Likes 1 Share |

Acidosis: Very simple. Increase the price of your product. In Germany, when minimum wage is increased, even the private sectors must comply with the new increment or face the heavy wrath of the government. |

princeade86:exactly! Every Nigerian irrespective of one working in public or private sector deserve the minimum wage so to get to the bottom of this the minimum wage has to be increase and then makes it a law. Making it a law will have the private sector either comply or close their business... The government can also provide grants for small private businesses |

How do they even arrived at this present price?are u saying the government is paying more than 300naira as subsidy on a litre of petrol before or they just use the average price of petrol in countries that share border with us,bcus i don't understand why the president will be saying he can't be subsidizing countries like Cameroon,Niger,Benin republic. whose responsibility is it to secure our borders?the major solution would have been for the federal Govt to make sure our borders are well secure,by doing this our petrol won't be getting to all those nation's.now u are punishing the masses for your own failure to secure the borders.why are the masses always on the receiving end of any Government policy in this country?this is pure wickedness. 1 Like |

Continuing from where the last Oga stopped. People never learn. It is all a scam. After flooding the country with cash for election, they have to readjust fuel price to account for the ensuing inflation. They increase is by 200%. The Unions pretend to strike and negotiate. They reduce it to 100% increase. The unions declare victory. The FG maintains "subsidy". Four years from now, we have to remove subsidy.... rinse and repeat. TUC, NLC get their cuts. Una chop stone..... 1 Like |

Some people, especially those in Lagos think every other Nigerian is either a banker, oil worker or a civil servant. 80 percent of Nigerians doesn't work in those place so even you they increase minimum wage, it won't still matter. |

How about the executives and legislators cut our bogus cost of governance? Cut the bogus allowances and salaries? Cut the bogus criminal pensions and more. So it as a show of good fate..... They claim the country is broke and can't manage to pay salaries but the country is rich enough to fund their big lifestyle. Why should the masses always take the hit for government failures? Why should we pay for their ineptitude. Why should pay for their inability to tackle corruption in the oil sector? Even western countries subsidize products for their people |

Ruggedniggaone: People underestimate the power of fuel subsidies in our daily lives. People supporting fuel subsidies removal are either ignorant or gaining something from government. If Average Nigerian is not sure of earning minimum of 250K don’t even talk about fuel subsidy removal. The level of insecurity that will hit Nigeria will be unprecedented. Bokoharam already recruit people for 30K according to several media reports. Over 130M Nigerians are in Multidimensional poverty and the government wants to expose them to International price movement for goods and services. We’re joking Some people think because they earn #1M or #1.5M monthly they’re now part of the elites reason they advocate for rubbish. Meanwhile the gateman in your house earns less than 30K. Your maid earns less than 30K. Government will not stop at fuel subsidy removal. Public schools is already dead. They’re coming for universities soon. You pay through your nose to get a degree. 400gram of Tin powdered Peak milk is now about #4000. It will never get better. They’re promising a future that only their families will be alive to witness because average Nigerian would have died off due to overwhelming hardship. 1 Like |

Mjshexy: You can't find kerosine in any household in Nigeria anymore, it is such a shame. Diesel is what those hauling trucks use and that's why prices of goods skyrocketed! With total petrol subsidy removal, Nigerians are heading towards the worst of the worst. An oil producing nation for that matter! Just because we don't want to fight corruption. |
