Some Nigerians are even more deadly than the government. How can nnpc sell fuel they bought 8 months ago for the price of today.
Everyone is deadly! If the marketers collect the fuel for old price, they will eventually sell for the new price. Everyone wants to become rich overnight.
The country na cruise! Everyone is just doing things the way they like.
Left for me, Tinubu is trying to use it for this month to raise money for his government at the detriment of Nigerians.
No other thinking to it bcus this month has been subsidized already. So why the unnecessary incremental hardship?

This thing is a scam - well organised.

Each time they want to hike the price of fuel, as a means of extorting money from the poor masses to run the corrupt system, they deceive us with this subsidy thing.

Nigeria is broke! Totally broke! They need money by all means. In the coming months or years they will use the same formula to extort money from the poor citizens. They will say it was partially removed.

You can't truly deregulate and still continue to fix the price of PMS - that's regulation.

I assume they are fixing price of their own product. Dangote will also announce his own ex depot price when his refinery starts operation. And any other importer can fix own price

How will this increased fuel price brought about by subsidy removal, impact the common man positively
That's the million dollar question I've been asking that nobody is answering. They claim they'll channel the money to education, hospital bla bla bla. How are we sure they won't still embezzle the subsidy money?

Are they fixing the price for the whole country or just their filling stations?

If they had deposited money long ago to purchase petrol at the old price, NNPC should honor the agreement, no matter how painful.

Because NNPC knew that if they sell the petrol for them for the old price, those marketers will still not refuce the price and sell to citizen with new price.
The marketers are also doing the same to the citizens. Did you see the speed of light most of them closed and chage the price immediately Tinubu declared subsidy

What NNPCL is doing by pegging the price is unconstitutional, an affront on the right of petrol businesses and a shameless display of double standards.
Subsidy is an organised crime that the government orchestrated, but now have no idea on how to control it. It's like the government budgeted for 15 thieves, but now thieves are 150 in number and the government can not reveal them without revealing its own thieving status.
NNPCL are the biggest thieves in all of these, it's surprising EFCC and ICPC aren't going after these people. Nigerian leaders are corrupt, lazy and bereft of ideas to fight corruption.

All those so called companies and their operators are just like Alibaba and the thieves!
The don't have Solutions but remained in the Office for Political patronages!
We Nigerians too are lazy- by now depending on ONE PRODUCT ( OIL)- since, even though, govt was behind the show!
Let all those running the place,go and New set of Management run it for 2- yrs, with a Target, that must be achieved!
Terrible and Shameful as a Nation.

NNPCL is not fair on this at all. If the depot price for marketers is 479.50 then how much will the filling stations sell. What of logistics money and the maintenance of filling stations. Nigeria is just too hard for individuals and business owners

540-479 =#61 it's okay on a litre Biko

This is what the new government is supposed to study about the subsidy thing and act accordingly. Tinubu knows nothing about the Nigerian subsidy on petroleum, he did not consult any paper work or finance records to understand things. He did not study how much is paid, for how many liters, and to whom, and finally what it means for the stakeholders. He just rushed into the announcement like a fool

Nigeria deserves hell.

That means marketers will sell to Nigerians at N650/L.. cos it will cost 1.5m-2M to transport ALONE 50k liters of petrol from South to North… plus settlement at depot, agberos and police on the highway.. plus driver and conductor’s salaries+commission. + wear and tear on the vehicle
Why is NNPC still setting prices if indeed petroleum is deregulated?
Same way NCAA doesn't set prices for airlines.
Same way NCC doesn't set price for telecoms.

Why is nnpc fixing price, when they said that subsidy has been removed? They should allow market forces to determine price, unless there is something they are not telling us.
