This post reminds me of something. A security man when I work heard GTB gives loans after 6 months to salary account holders. He moved his salary account to GTB.

After 6 months, he tried applying for a loan and was denied. Went to the bank to find out what happened and they told him he had an unpaid loan with Fidelity bank.

He went to Fidelity, repaid the loan, collected letter of indebtedness, tried applying for the loan again and he still wasn't granted.

He went back to GTB and they confirmed he has other unpaid loans with Carbon, Lcredit, Fairmoney and one other app I can't remember now.

When I asked him why he was owing so much, he said he thought he can collect the money and get away with it since the worst they can do is send messages to people on his contact list. It's not like they can physically meet him to request for the loan.

This guy is not alone, there are many others like him

You make a great point, particularly with absconding. I mean, if the creditor is unable to serve notice as part of due diligence as established by the law, then it can become criminal. HOWEVER, for it to become criminal, the creditor must prove that the debtor is absconding because of his unwillingness to pay the loan and that can be very difficult because debtor fit claim other reasons for absconding, not related to the loan. Otherwise, the creditor will get punished by the court because it can't be deemed absconding.

If the video is fake and these guys have used verified logos/ registered brand name for this skit, then Palmpay should sue them because of the damage it has done to one of their product.
