FOR EVERYONE LOOKING TO SWITCH TO TECH IN CANADA.., TAKE THIS ADVICE 1) you need some form of Canadian work experience to start with . 2) Remember that top tech companies recently laid off a lot of their employees with tons of work experience in the tech industry , so you are competing with people that have experiences working for facebook, google, twitter etc . So be ready to spend money on one 2 or 3 certifications in the field you are going for if needed . 3) While looking for that tech job, apply for other jobs also,so that you will have a steady income... remember a job application rejection is more painful when you are jobless than when you have a job . 4) You might get tons of application rejections , do not let that derail you . Don't give up . 5) before paying someone for a fast track tech class, make sure you inquire about the type of services that person is offering .. if he/she is just offering classes , and billing you more than $1000 , its a waste of money because all the resources they are getting , you can also get it onlie and buy if cheaper .. remember YOUTUBE AND UDEMY are your best friend in the tech space . goodluck . 25 Likes 2 Shares |

olalekan9320: I swear, Health gives more job security but there's burn out sha. Even PSW make a lot of money not to talk of nurses. During COVID 19 health workers were just jejely cashing out and getting PR that's when peoples eyes began to enter Tech lol |

prettyynx:Paying for fast tracks and bootcamps are not worth it in my own opinion. Even if it's 100$. There are lots of sites that have Udemy courses for free. Bootcamps certificate and Tech coach add no value to resume. 5 Likes |

khalazi:What about enrolling in a continue studies in colleges like York University for 11 months course in Full-stack website development? What will you advise a newbie trying to take this route. Thanks |

Emmafe: You’re still spending lots of money for that course. Do a google search on recommended full-stack courses/tutorials. You’d start to notice a pattern with some courses being mentioned repeatedly in your search. Those are the courses you go after. Check their prices and reviews till you arrive at the one that you’re at peace with. These courses/tutorials cost way less than all these bootcamps/degrees at UNI’s. My 2cents ✌🏿 6 Likes 1 Share |

Good day everyone I'll be coming to Kitchener Ontario September for study in Conestoga College. I've been looking for affordable apartments within that area but the ones I've been seeing are above my budget. Also I am not a tech person, I'm a media person. Was wondering if I could also see a jobs around there to make ends meet. |

Emmafe:Not a bad option if in Canada already as a permanent resident since cost will be cheaper. From my personal observations, diplomas are typically not given significant recognition in the job market unless they are specifically focused on health-related fields. 1 Like |

khalazi:Infact these boot camps and fast track tech are something else, it has been turned to a hustle now. Everyone is teaching tech now for 2000CAD!!!! How can i give 2000Cad when I am out of job and looking to switch carreer? Plain exploitation!!!! Indians don't do these stuff!!! 3 Likes |

Storypoint:there is a 9ja person who charges 3k for one of those courses 😅. I warned my friend he didn’t listen o. The consensus from majority of those in the class was that it wasn’t worth it , many went on to enrol in actual schools and colleges . My friend continued with his current PM job and has not been able to change jobs like the tutor advertised . But the tutor still used him as part of success stories without informing him, he saw his pic on a linkedin advert.🤣🤣🤣 13 Likes 1 Share |
