Do some homework, find out if he is free I.e not engaged or in a relationship. If he is your type, his daily schedule, what he likes, what he doesn't then position yourself.

Never ask a man out directly, get close to him as a friend and make him see you are worth going after. While at this please never lose your self respect so you can move on with chin up if everything didn't go the way you want.

Do away with that mentality of when I make the first move as the woman, the guy will think I am cheap.

For someone like me, I will even appreciate a girl that summons up the courage to approach and ask me out.

So make the move and make your intentions known, its either he accepts or decline, what ever the outcome is, you take it like that.

I'm a very direct guy so I'll tell you to just go straight to the point especially if he's not in another relationship. If he likes you or thinks you'd be good for him, he will take it up from there. It's better than getting close and not saying anything...not everyone understands body signals

There's no way she won't have to risk her self worth. Going by your advice, it is easy to misconstrue the effort as just being friendly.

She needs to go deeper than a friend would.
A common way ladies have pulled that off with me is by breaking the touch barrier especially on the face, holding of hands, and tight hugs that linger a little longer.
Calling of personalized pet names e.g my love, my baby.
Strong eye contact from a close range especially while saying nothing.
Buying of gifts.

That's what I can remember for now.
Even friends around noticed the interest and it didn't make them lose their self worth.
It's now left to the guy to take it up from there if he is into her too.

Look, there's nothing like you looking cheap if you make the first move.
If he makes the first move and you play around for 3 years before giving in to his requests, it won't stop you from looking cheap later on.

Looking cheap is the way you carry yourself around a man, not by you not making moves to him.

Also, many of you are only scared of rejection that you dish out to men daily.

If the man is within your area or vicinity and you know him for years don't make the move except he is new...it means if he likes you he will make the move before You...but throwing your self will make you of less value and you may used and dumped...if a man is attractied to you he will make the move from day one and if he is shy his gestures towards you will show...
