Civil Societies Coalition for Fuel Subsidy Removal have appealed to Nigerians to get adapted to the recent removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu and support it as a way of moving the country forward.

The groups say the gains far outweigh the temporary pain, insisting that the era of fuel subsidy payment brought about a setback in Nigerian economy, appealing for support to make the removal stay.

Removal of subsidy on petroleum on Monday, May 29 by President Bola Tinubu during his inaugural President saw the rapid increase of petrol pump price from N95 Naia to N537, a development that has altered the prices of goods and service,

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, which was also the maiden edition since the establishment of the coalition, the Convener, Blessing Oyefeso said the group reached this stand after weighing the pros and cons, as well as the shenanigans of fuel subside removal.

*As a people, we have come to the conclusion to Count the Gains of Fuel Subsidy Removal against the colossal loss and economic retrogressive effect of Fuel Subsidy on Nigeria Economic Emancipation.

"On this note, We the Coalition of Civil Societies Organization lend our voice in support of Fuel Subsidy Removal, haven weight the pros and cons, and the shenanigans that mare Fuel Subsidy Regime", he said.

He called on President Bola Tinubu to hasten the ongoing stakeholders consultations to roll out the incentives to mitigate the shock from the subsidy removal.

Also speaking, a Co-Convener, Prince Sadjere said fuel subsidy does not benefit the people, noting that its removal is the best way go.

Tolorunju Idowu, a co-converner said Nigeria is in a new era under Bola Tinubu and should be adapted by all.

They urged stakeholders across board to support the development agenda of the country to pave way for national growth.

In other to drive the message home and enhance the subsidy removal campaign, the group will hold a solidarity walk on Monday, 12th June from Unity Fountain by 10:00am with the theme, Walk The Talk, For A Prosperous Nigeria.

Only children of 8, frustration, anger and perdition are against removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.

Subsidy is gone and gone for good, they can call for emergency meeting at third mainland bridge and each take a leap after the meeting.

We should stop deceiving our self
We are playing a politics of tribalism which is very bad

This was same protest the whole nation and the nlc participated in during Jonathan and as at that time price of things were too cheap yet we entered the street and protested

The truth is this 2023 protest didn't hold because of tribalism
We should stop deceiving ourselves..we should look deep into our heart and ask this big question
If na obi remove this subsidy wetin for happen

Of course we all know the answer I swear protest for dey everywhere

Larryndelaw:
Can we move on. Jonathan era is gone. Are you still dwelling in your past?
The past is a stepping stone to the future...And since we're talking about the future, it is our present actions that shape it, and our present is heavily influenced by our past!

Tinubu the master strategist, great negotiator. Since he assumed office, he has been meeting various stakeholders, making them fall in line to his dream. First time a president will change the price of petrol and no industrial action that'll disturb the nation's activities.

I don't do blind support, I don't trust Tinubu or any other Nigerian politician, they are very wicked. We blindly followed Buhari but he disappointed us at last. I pray we wouldn't miss Buhari in a later time
