Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna lead NIN registrations in Nigeria between 2019 and 2021, according to the NBS report.

Kano takes the lead in NIN registrations in 2021, with Lagos and Kaduna following closely behind.

The North-west region had the highest overall registrations, while the South-east recorded the least registrations during the period.

A new report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reveals that Lagos, Kano, and Kaduna had the most registration with the National Identity Management Commission between the year 2019 and 2021.

According to the report, Kaduna state had the most registration in 2019 with 595,284 followed by Lagos and Kano with 560,757, and 485,912 respectively. For 2020, Lagos topped the list of states with the most registration and National Identity number issued.

However, in 2021, Kano had the most registration with 3,415,421, followed by Lagos with 3,002,693, and Kaduna with 1,434,331. In total, around 5.84 million people registered for NIN in 2019.

The figure dropped by 14.03% in 2020 to just over 5 million. In 2021, there was a northward spike in registrations and NIN issued as the figure increased by 439.12% to just over 27 million.

This could be attributed to a directive by the Federal government in December 2020 that mandates citizens to submit their NIN to telcos for immediate synchronization.

In total, almost 37,906,617 million people have been registered and issued NINs in the period between 2019 and 2021.

Regional Analysis
By regional analysis, the North-west region topped registration in the three years under review. This was followed by the South-west. The South-east recorded the least registration according to the report with a total of around 1.7 million registrations during the period under review- around 4.2% of total registrations.

Overall, the North-west had the most registration followed by the South-West. The North-central came third while the North-east, South-south, and South-east followed that order.

Gender Analysis
More men registered for NIN compared to the female gender. In 2019, 52.58% of registrants were men compared to 42.41% who were females. The pattern continued in 2020 where women made up 45.23% and men accounted for 54.27%.

For 2021, women represented 47.41% of the around 27.05 million people who registered for NIN compared to men who made up 52.59% of the population.

In 2019, Osun state was the only state where women outnumbered men in registration. However, in 2020, more women were issued NIN numbers in Akwa-Ibom, Ekiti, Kwara, and Zamfara. In Ogun state, the difference between men and women was just a few hundred.

In 2021, women who registered for NIN outnumbered men in 14 states- Abia, Ekiti, Kwara, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Ekiti, Enugu, Imo, Kogi, Borno, Ogun, Oyo, and Osun states.

Surprisingly, Lagos was the only state in the South-west where men outnumbered women in NIN registration for 2021.

With this kind of news, that recurring population question has eventually been resolved with better data capture technology so we now know the answer; identity of the super majority tribes and minority population tribes.

Now we know which tribe has actually been inflating its population strength since 1960. I grew up hearing the falsehood that the population of the north is inflated because they allegedly cheat during census and count goats and Maalu as humans ,it has turned out to be a big fat lie! It is now clear that the south is where the census cheats are and blackmailing the northerners unfairly.Kudos to the northern elites who did not fall for the blackmail and lies propagated right from independence! Those cheating knew all along but never knew that someday, technology will expose them. The north have the population indeed! And by this NIN report, the only super majority tribe in the South is the Yoruba.

This NIN registration data aligns with INEC data, JAMB data (from registered GSM lines and each candidate indicating their state of origin and clean data capture) and internet density data.

All these data confirm that the only three majority tribes in Nigeria are the Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani.

This was what HE Orji Uzo Kalu once admitted on why the power rotation is at the mercy of the 3 majority tribes of Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani; population because of their huge population and voting strength.

Some people will soon start explaining why their HUGE population is insignificant in NBS portal. grin

Ask them why they are running away from their villages flowing with milk and honey, they will blame Tinubu for embezzling their funds. grin

Okay enjoy. Continue deceiving yourself with data that didn't capture state of origin. Which JAMB data are you talking about? SE has been topping jamb registration data because it uses state of origin. Even voter registration, SE topped SW minus Lagos upon say igbos are more in SW than all yorubas outside yorubaland. Be deceiving yourself

Rude as usual smh.
JAMB data capture states of origin, use this same NIN and registered GSM number of each candidate with biometrics..

Go and study the data and you will realise that only about 20% of candidates with Igbo states of origin sit for JAMB exam outside Igboland and most of these candidates live in states neighbouring to Igbo states not even far away Lagos, Ibadan Abuja , Kaduna or Kano.

It's the cleanest data that prove my hypotheses that 80% of Igbo actually live in the 5 Igbo states and 20% live outside SE. Most of this 20% live in Delta, Rivers, Benue, Kogi and Akwa Ibom not far away states.

These data you guys are requesting for are all over the internet so it is not fair to be asking someone else to do it for you. Go and do the work too.

I have painstakingly gone through the JAMB data and discovered that about 80% of JAMB candidates in SE are Igbo and only about 20% of candidates of SE origin actually sit for exams outside Igboland and the South East diversity of candidates is the least among the registered JAMB candidates in the 5 SE states compared to other zones. It means that most other Nigerian tribes do not register and sit for JAMB in Igboland!

The JAMB data is a clean data that is linked to both NIN and registered GSM number of each candidate stating their state of origin. This report on NIN registration just confirm the pattern we have seen in other clean data.

These clean data has put a question even on the idea that SE indigenes are everywhere in Nigeria. I agree with it but only 20% are domiciled outside SE and most of this 20% live in the non Igbo states that border the 5 SE states.
