But speaking when he appeared on ARISE TV on Sunday, Sirika said the lawmaker approached him and asked for five percent shares of the airline for “him and his people”.

“On the issue of Hon Nnaji who called Nigeria Air launch a fraud, I will respond now. I will say exactly what I told him in private when we spoke.”

“Hon Nnaji asked me that I should give him 5% of Nigeria to carry him along with his people, and I said to him at that time, Honourable, a bidding process that has taken place, and some people won. So, I think you should go to those people and ask for the 5 percent.”

When Reuben Abati, anchor of the show, asked the former Minister to clarify if the lawmaker indeed asked for bribe for himself and other legislators, Sirika said, “Let’s be fair, Hon Nnaji didn’t say other members. He said he wants it for himself and his people. His people could his be his family, could be members and it could be leadership. I don’t know, but he insisted on 5%. I said that he should relax and approach the owners. That’s exactly what I told him.” Daily Trust

Obi was part of that government, did he speak out against the government for removing Sanusi?

All this politicians are the same.
You are talking off point.

If some one critique you for doing something today...and tomorrow, he does the same thing, won't you attack him back for being a hyppcrite.

Is this to divert attention from the fact that they defrauded Nigeria?

You must act true to type.

So we should applaud him for not paying the 5% bribe? Does that change anything? Does that make him less criminal?

My point is that all these politicians are good at pointing out faults when they're not in power but once they get there, it becomes a sorry case.

See IBB blaming politicians for not taking advantage of our democracy, the same IBB that messed up this country with that annulment.

I've seen it happen to pure water, agri business, POS, bet shops, ehailing and several other businesses too numerous to mention. If it also happens in other countries, I can't speak to that. I was talking about the reality I've experienced as an everyday Nigerian.

Just saw a news today that Facebook parent company Meta wants to release a service comparable to Twitter

This is why I have been soo angry with Obi. He handled this movement very poorly.
Very meek even in the face of aggression. And that meekness has ebbed at his following.

Our silence suddenly means we "accept" the evil that took place on election.

After the robbery and rigging that took place on election day, I advocated for nationwide protests around the country, people said Obi would be foolish to do that, that he should follow due process.

Now the case is in court and people are saying obidients should just give up! They should "accept reality". That's the reality that a thief stole something dear to you and you should just accept that the thief has gotten away with it.. well, kpele oo, we are waiting on the justice system, our judiciary, to see if they would rectify the wrongs of the election.
Having faith in the ideal should never be looked upon as wrong.

Is this a threat?

“It is about the rule of law and vibrant judiciary that can be trusted to deliver justice and strengthen institutions. It has become imperative to state here that the unnecessary illegal orders used to truncate or abridge democracy will no longer be tolerated.

“The recent harmonisation of the retirement age for judicial officers is meant to strengthen the rule of law, which is a critical pillar of democracy. The reform has just started,” he said.

Like? The man just basically threatened an equal branch of power and people have barely noticed this.

It's not like we didn't warn people that this man would destroy all our institutions.

I'm reading "art of thinking clearly" by Dobeli and I'm on number 12, this excerpt exposeswhat our politicians keep doing

Suppose you're the president of a country and have no idea how to run it. What do you do? You predict “difficult years” ahead, ask your citizens to“tighten their belts,” and then promise to improve the situation only after this “delicate stage” of “cleansing,” “purification,” and “restructuring.” Naturally you leave the duration and severity of the period open.

In conclusion: If someone says, “It’ll get worse before it gets better,”you should hear alarm bells ringing.
Great book. I read it in 2021 but didn't finish it because it's a bit voluminous, and I had tons of other books to read.

30 years ago today, my primary school close to Ikeja Cantonment was tear gassed, accidentally or intentionally. I was in Primary 1 and the canister landed just outside our window. We were wailing and screaming and our teacher told us to remove our shirt, piss on it, put it on our face, and head to the sickbay.

There were no mobile phones then, so it wasn't till around 2pm that parents started arriving in a panic to pick up their kids. My mum had myself, my brothers and 2 of our neighbours packed in her Volkswagen beetle, with leaves stuck to the front.

Between ikeja and bariga through anthony, there were groups of rioters burning tires on the road and smashing windshields every 2 kilometres. My eyes were swollen like I'd done 3 rounds against a pro boxer, and all of us were crying in the car as my mother begged from checkpoint to checkpoint for them not to smash her glass.

Fvck Nigeria and Nigerians mehn. The best thing my parents ever did for me was to get me out of that country.

I will go to your school and report you at Area F

Omo, the streets would have made worse of it because it would have transcended to anarchy and doom..

Where have you everly seen justice gotten by violence?

Violence sometimes is meant for revenge and vengeance which in turn breeds more violence..

Violence is and should only be the last resort when all peaceful avenues has been excersised..

Nobody has Monopoly of violence..

At least obi is first of all exercising all the peaceful and lawful routes..

The time violence will come, it will come and nothing will stop it..

Good first step. Use that energy to ginger yourself out to where you want

You have only a few years alive you should prioritize your personal well-being, then your immediate family first. All other things na Jara

Nigeria will be alright. Anyone who wants to fight and protest should go ahead
Don't let anyone blackmail you to go die
Darlington is a coward who cannot fight own it with your chest. Those heroes wey die for June 12 riots back then what happened to their kids parents and family

Some of their kids turned into street kids to survive
If cowardice will make you live till tomorrow when you sort yourself and make your parents smile own it

Your priority is 1 Darlington, 2. Your family. All those killed during endars na their mama dey cry daily now
