sugarcoatted: What do you mean by odd? If I know I wouldn't come here to ask? I'm a yoruba & administering rob is one of the ways they use in this case. So if I'm asking its because I want to be enlighten |

iamfertile:Exclusively breastfed babies sometimes go on for days without pooing. You should incorporate more vegetables and fruits into your diet. Also take more water. 3 Likes |

iamfertile:mama, i know you want the best for this baby whom you waited and prayed for, but please take it easy, i remember telling you this before, some of these practices you are doing are not good for the baby, rub or mentholatum shouldn’t be used on an infant. As the yorubas will say, 4 eyes gives birth to a baby but a thousand raise a baby, please if you are listening to all these our wonderful old mummies its time to stop it biko. 7 Likes 1 Share |

iamfertile: I totally agree with her. Please don’t listen to this our aged yoruba mothers. As long as your little one is farting and peeing well, he/she is perfectly fine. Exclusive babies go on for days without pooing so it’s not out of place. There’s no need doing anything to force the poo out. May the Almighty protect our little ones. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello experienced mamas in the house. God bless you for the good work you all are doing here. My baby girl is 7 months old, I did 6 months exclusive breastfeeding. I couldn't continue due to our present financial crisis. I wasn't feeding well despite still breastfeeding, I was looking very emaciated and fell ill often, plus my baby eats a lot. So hubby asked me to stop breastfeeding after 6 months. I started making tom brown ( maize, guinea corn, soya bean, dates, ground nuts and sweet potato) and mixing it with baby formula for her. She liked it at first and was looking chubby and healthy, she's a naturally chubby baby, even while I was breast feeding. Recently, I couldn't afford the formula, so I have been giving her only the tom brown, she doesn't take it as much as before and I noticed that whenever she does, she passes a very large amount of poop but it's not runny like diarrhoea, just lots of brown mushy poop that looks a lot like the tom brown she took. It's not watery at all. She also seems to be losing a bit of weight and only takes a little bit of the tom brown at a time. I'm so confused, I feel so guilty that I stopped breastfeeding. Please some one help me with answers. |

Good morning beautiful mommas,I want to ask if I can rub metholatum on my four month old baby chest and nose because of cold. |
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Nobody: 2:48am On Jun 16, 2023 |
Belovedbaby: Good evening Mum, Metholatum and silver bird are not recommended to be used on babies younger than two. Few health practitioners may say you can us it,but this only means they have judged your individual situation and the benefits outnumbers the risks. To your question,I would say no.Instead give a warm bath, cover them up properly and give warm milk. If nose is clogged a few drops of saline and a bulb syringe should help remove mucus. Hope your little one is better in a few days. 3 Likes |

Good day All, I will like to ask how early can a mother who is studying resume back to classes after delivery? She will be going to school from home and classes are usually about 4hours for 4 days/week and many assignments and quizzes to study for. She also has an active toddler to cater for. |

AUNTYLLAI:My baby had same. Northerners also call it jedi jedi. I was told to reduce the way I eat sugar things. Then there's this red leaf you can boil and bath baby with, it will help clear baby's skin. |
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Omakraid(f): 9:26pm On Jun 17, 2023 |
thejourney200:As soon as she can depending on what's happening in school. While I was in year 5, a departmental mate gave birth overnight and was in school that morning cos we had exams. Someone carried the baby for her. If not for the exam, she could have stayed back a little. Ensure there's help for her. Either your mum or her mum so she can have time to study and also rest. You should also be ready to help out with assignments and also engage the toddler so the mum can pull her academics together 1 Like |
