I’d appreciate if GraciousWords and Ednut1 could weigh in on this. I’m in the same situation, I used a gift deed document and fixed deposit of 6M for my proof of funds for one person, apparently it has gone up to around 6.7M

Should I do an extra fixed deposit?

mcstan18:

Applications are assessed based on the information and parameters applicable at the date/time of submission. Your application will not be refused because FX rates changed subsequent to submission. If there is a need to re-evaluate your elligibility status, you'd surely get an ADR (not a refusal).

For others that are yet to submit, kindly ensure that your POFs are translated using the prevalent exchange rates found HERE, on the date of your submission. That's the most likely rate the officers are going to use during the elligibility checks. As at 15/6/23, the rate stands at ₦485.01 per CAD

100% agree with Mcstan.

positive - if you are already post AOR (when FX rates moved), I think you are safe......and if the VO has concerns they would probably send an ADR. To be super prudent, post AOR folks may decide to prepare a supplementary gift deed just in case they get an ADR for POF.

negative - rates will likely move higher in the next few days, weeks. Obviously, people who have not applied yet need to take the higher FX rate into account.

My advice is to always convert to USD/CAD whether the money is your life savings or a gift.

Best!

PS: the rates have varied so widely recently...I wonder if IRCC will consider an average for the month or something!

Hello everyone,

I was in Canada (on Vistor's Visa) when I submitted my application for PR. In the travel history, I filled "ongoing" in Canada as part of my travel history. I'm now back in Nigeria.

1. Do you I need to raise a webform for this? With my visa stamp, and travel itinerary as proof?

2. I will return to Canada again in a few days (will I need to do the same again?) when I get back?

I'm a little edgy as I wait and pray for everything to go well with my PR application.

Thank you.

The response on this screenshot sums it up nicely about the fluctuations with PoF

Please house I need clarification. This year it was announced that Ontario allocation is 16500. I counted the number of people that they have sent invitation and it's currently 18200 this June. Does it mean that once they get the 16k amount of permanent resident, every other person invited will be automatically rejected?

focus on real issues like how to get ITA not all these. Many people they invite later get federal ITA and ignore the invitation. Happened to me too got oinp first and federal ita a month later. Let the people in OINP do their thing, if they send you invite make sure you ask them if you are number 16501 so that you can reject it 🙄.

Good evening seniors. Please can anyone explain how to calculate the current POF using the updated POF rate on their website. I can’t seem to figure out how people arrived at the $485. Thanks

The rate is not fixed. It is a quote on how much CAD you can get from One Naira. As at today it is 0.0022168.

Meaning for me to get how much Naira I need to get one CAD, I will always divide 1 by the value quoted for that day.

So 1/0.0022168 = 451.10

So one CAD is = 451 at official rate conversion today.

People, please advise. I have an application in progress. However, the current dollar unification has reduced my POF significantly. Can or should I update my POF using webform even before they ask me? Can anyone advice please

Thankfully, Everything got completed on the tracker today. I guess I have escaped the POF issue

Good evening everyone,
Please I got my Masters degree from a university in Benin Republic but it was during covid and I didn't travel to Benin Republic, I did my program virtually from Nigeria. The issue is that part of the document I'm being asked to submit for my FSW application is police report for my time studying in Benin Republic. But I didn't travel there because my program was virtual due to covid.
I plan on explaining this in the letter I will be sending alongside my application. Has anyone experienced this? And please I would like your suggestions and input. Thank you.

Hello,
Please is the tax clearance a compulsory document for SINP. Is this same for other provinces and the express entry.

Page 1 FAQ 50 please.

Possible.....but only makes sense CRS wise if their CLB scores are higher from TEF/TCF than IELTS. See page 1 post 2 for the CRS points from first and second language tests.

Usually native English speakers are able to get three CLB 10 and one CLB 9....in Writing (a few get four CLB 10s)......it's very rare to see Nigerians whose TEF/TCF scores are better than this, unless they are also native French speakers.

Hello house,
I need help with these questions please:

1. If my employer paid my Monthly salary via cash and I apply for SINP, will it be required of me to submit a Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC)? If years, since I'm claiming experience for 10 years, will 10 years tax clearance be requested?

2. For Express entry, if salary was paid via cash, will it be required to submit a TCC

Thank you sir/ma.

Add all evidence it was a virtual program to your LOE. Indicate distance learning in your eAPR in brackets after the name of the institution.

Hi House,
Please i need your advice.
My CRS score was 465 but when i entered the EE pool, its 440
i tried to compare both scores in CRS and Express entry from the breakdown and the skill transferability was different by 25.
I choose 2 or more certificates in CRS for my BSC and AAT, and i also put the two in Express entry application as Bachelor's degree and 1 year college level certificate as it is in my ECA.
Please, is there anything i'm choosing wrong, that is reducing my score by 25?

Please help.
