But very few people actually use the Alphabet grading system for movies. If you noticed, I mentioned imdb and rottentomatoes.

Also, rating something A or B or B- is not standard across countries. B- in USA is 80 to 82%, but in UK, B- is 60- 64.99%

But wait! Metacritic uses percentage and fraction!

My bad. It wasn't Metacritic I was suppose to type, I meant Cinemascore.

I think his point was that this alphabetical rating is a very sîlly and vague rating...

Whenever I see it myself, I personally ignore it...
It's too vague, you can't really tell from it...
Same as most people... because the alphabets can represent different scores...

I think Cinemascore do it so people focus more on their reviews than the score itself...

Same as the review I see on this thread. Whenever I see alphabetical scores, I personally ignore it and focus on the review itself...the score is pointless

so yes...using alphabets to score movies is a sîlly rating system except your intention is to get people to focus on the review and not the score

If you simply dropped an alphabet without a review to accompany it, it would be clownery...but with a review, it makes more sense

I really don't see it that way or feel it's silly. I just think it's what they are more comfortable with or they chose to stand out from the rest of the pack using that style. Just like you have some media outlets using "stars" to rate or judge in their movies reviews.

Personally, I don't like it though and have never visited Cinemascore till few minutes ago when I went there to prove my point. I only come across them when I read the Wikipedia pages of certain movies and that's how I knew they use alphabet to rate their movies. I'm not fan of such ratings. I prefer rating from 1-10.

Cinemascore doesn't do reviews, it's just metric site to measure how good or bad a movie is from an audience point of view. Doesn't this invalidate all you just said?

stars... especially 1-10 stars is still great...
Most people can understand it...
IMBD uses stars but final score is in digits...

The whole alphabetical score is too vague... different sites can have different meaning of these alphabets

If A+ is the highest, then what is the lowest?
D? C-? F?

So i think it boils down to preference and the matter here is that you prefer the fraction ratings. Using Alphabet or fractions or Percentage is basically the same. I have even seen stars as ratings, If you see any of these rating style, it shouldn't be that hard to figure out the metric guage the person is tending towards. It's a none issue in my opinion.

The only movie I anticipated this year which kinda didn't disappoint is extrACTION , fully lived up to it's name..

Would have given them a solid 9/10 but they didn't kill off that stupid Sandro kid.."Snitches must get stitches"..

Passport 2022.

Kopiko! Kopiko!! Kopiko!!!

Reeling from the "The Flash Hangover" yesterday, My plan was to see Extraction 2 but i didn't have the mental focus to see it, i was looking for something light hearted and this popped up on Netflix, and i was genuinely surprised how good it was.

I was letting out burst of laughs but seeing it's a Nollywood flick, i was expecting it to go sour at some point, but to my shock they it didn't, they were actually able to stick a very good landing in the end.

It tells a Story of a Guy who lost his passport whilst hurrying to catch a flight, the passport fell into the hands of "Area Boys" and what ensued was a very funny sequence of unfortunate events.
Perfect casting but special praise to Mercy Johnson as "Kopiko", she was the true star of the show.
If you want something fun and light hearted this weekend i highly recommend this.

A solid B and by the way it's 7.7/10 on IMBD, for people into that 👀😀

When Ant Man 3 came out and one dude was spamming the thread with photos of MODOK he got on Twitter, talking shît about a movie he didn't even see in the cinemas, I didn't do anything. Now that the flush is out and I'm returning the favor he has realized that we are supposed to see the movie for ourselves first before talking shît, what a fuckîng hypocrite. I've not even started yet and I'm not even hyped to see this shît, currently hooked on warrior season 1. Oh and please if you don't understand what we're doing just shut it. This is tradition 😁.

Chill. That was his uncle, his family.

Are you saying you'll trust a complete stranger who showed up out of the blue to rescue you from something you have no idea about?

Sandro did what a smart kid would. Never trust strangers, only family.

It's so sad we have to tolerate you here because 80% of your post, you are always waging pointless wars, no meaningful contributions or meaningful reviews, always with a match to start a fire when nothing is cooking. This is like your 4th or 5th moniker now, with zero changes to the unsavoury way you have been acting, don't you ever sit down to evaluate and see you have some deep rooted issues? Go out and touch grass sometimes, whilst i hope you find the help you so desperately need.

So, The Flush had a B cinemascore, I remember someone telling me to wait for the cinemascore that this would be an unbiased take. I wonder who DC fans will blame this on now. These movies are above it's level. 😂

I'd like to believe F is the lowest. From our schools' metric of rating our performances in exams, A1 (A+ in the Cinemascore universe) is the highest, while F9 is the lowest.

Extraction 2.......8.8/10

Solid action movie. The objective was clear.
No one went in expecting some grandiose story...
But I won't go into spoilers

The uncut action scenes of the extraction from prison to the train and to their extraction point was incredible...
I heard it took 4 months just to film that scene...

Some insane directing there since everyone knew their roles...

I'm glad people are starting to appreciate uncut scenes more and more...I remember one of the legendary uncut fight scene from the old Korean movie: OLDBOY

Not like the cheap scenes with a million pointless cuts we mostly get in Hollywood nowadays...

for the record, I'm Not saying all action scenes with many cuts are bad...the Bourne movies did it well...and they used it with a purpose and efficiently...
But most movies after just use to make cheap effortless action scenes

Glad uncut scenes are getting more focus nowadays

The action scenes weren't realistic but never broke investment...not like the supernatural scenes in Fast and Furious.

They put in a lot of effort to make them as professional as possible, making full use of different artillery and kits

The only scenes I found incredibly hard to believe was the fight with helicopters on the train. At a point, they had a clean shot at Tyler but somehow, all their bullets managed to miss him out in the open while all of his landed on the chopper

Was it better than the first movie?
I don't know...I think I enjoyed the first movie slightly better but it's been long. All I know is that both movies are very good...it could go either way

yes the kid was annoying...
But that's what he is...a kid.

Just like Tyler said, he is confused. He made mistakes...he doesn't know who to trust...he was being told different things

And alphabetical metrics are not constant lol

Some metrics see "S" as the highest grade...some see "A"
Some see "A+"

It's obviously I was guessing if you read my first line correctly. I don't use Cinemascore at all. Today's my first time visiting there. So, I don't know their highest or lowest metric. I only knew about them from visiting Wikipedia pages of some movies.

You haven't seen doesn't mean it doesn't exists. They have rated F for some terrible movies and F is the lowest rating in the alphabet rating if common sense is anything to go by.

I doubt if any metric use "S" as a grade system, it is probably means the movie contains high sexual content, don't confuse it for a metric gauge and stick to what you know and you are comfortable with.

I've been saying it since that these guys are fuckíng hypocrites. After all that clowning they did when Spiderman NWH came out, see how low they are stooping for fan service and nostalgia bait. I heard George Reeves was in it - The same George Reeves that committed suicide for a number of reasons, one of them being that his career took a negative turn after playing superman. What an interesting time to be a DC fan.
